I like him factoring in the analytics, all the best programs do in college and nfl

We should really be glad he does because if we think he is the worst ā€œgame dayā€ coach ever then the analytics will for sure save us sometimes.
 
I thought his voice sounded kind of high-pitched in the on-field post game interview. I bet he was ****ting bricks when they were taking that last onside kick...he knows he'd have to explain yet another bad call in a tight situation late in a game if they recovered and scored the winning TD.
 
I hope none of the players or coaches feel good about this game or the way it ended.

Ever since Mario chose not to kneel against GT, I have to know that we will always be a terrible coachā€™s decision away from choking the game away.

Also, its guaranteed that weā€™re going to run the ball down the middle for 1st and 2nd down every 4th quarter with a lead. Every mf knows our 4Q play book. No outside runs, no pitches, no end arounds, no fakes. We keep the clock running the only vanilla way we know how.

Itā€™s so unacceptable that a coachā€™s philosophy and ineptitude could blow a lead or ruin a game at any given point in the season. Our players and fans just donā€™t deserve that
 
Two things can be simultaneously true. Yes weā€™re happy that we got the win. Yes we did look good racing out to a 28-3 lead going into the 4th. Yes we made some great stops and great plays for three quarters.

But, we need to recognize that Mario tends to coach for things that arenā€™t exactly there. When we get the ball at the 43 after the first onside kick, why abandon the short passing game on 1st down and go two straight runs to put your offense in a predictable situation, making us easy to defend and then come away with nothing? Why not take the points by entrusting your special teams unit from 40 yards out a few drives later? Keep scoring points is the name of the game.

Why go conservative on defense as if we had given up any big plays all night? I believe one play over 20 yards and that was to Ousame on the first driveā€¦Castellanos is not beating you over the top. Predictable D and O is not what got us a 25 point lead with a quarter to go.

Finishing games have been an issue for a while, and hopefully it doesnā€™t catch up with us. Especially, as bodies get thin down the stretch at the end of the season. We donā€™t have the same kill mentality on offense that we had last season. Iā€™m sure that has more to do with Cam more than anything. He did what he wanted to do. Itā€™s more obvious as weā€™re seeing now. As Beckā€™s leash is way shorter.

This game became a dogfight with three onside kicks that did not have to happen. Weā€™ve seen this song and dance before. We play not to lose more than we try to put a team to sleep. Got to get better. We shall see.

Mario wanted the time out to kick the FG. You could see it before the snap, Beck and our OC somehow did get that
 
I just hope Mario has the humility to consult with past coaching greats on how to avoid these late game letdowns. Heā€™s proven that he can adapt and I know that he has got to be aware that this tendency could potentially keep us from the CFP or earn us an early exit. Good thing we got the win in week 6 and the issue is fixableā€¦I hope

Like guys.... you know **** well that beating FSU is not a given year in and year out. Some years we get them. Some years, they get us.

They had Jimbo Fisher on before the game. The same people complaining now were on this board when Dalvin Cook was carving us up and ole crab legs was winning a natty for FSU.

For the life of me, I can't understand how you can not just look at the big picture and BE ******* HAPPY WE WON.

Like just think back for a second where this program was, and now look at where it is. Look at what we just ******* did, and APPRECIATE IT.

Clearly. I was at the game, not a single person was saying it was the wrong call.

Yall wanted him to kick a FG to make a 2-score gameā€¦..a 2-score game??

Imagine the menstruation on this board if Mario kicks a FG there and it gets blocked and returned for a touchdown? We held them to 3 points in 3 quarters. You try to end the game with your safest pass call, which we did. We didnā€™t execute. So now you lean on your defense.
