The funny thing is that if you put 50 random people in a room together, they'd mostly get along. They talk and find common ground and be generally courteous other than maybe 1 or 2 jerks.

Take that same group of 50 and put them in a chat room, or Facebook or Twitter, and you'd have 30 ******** finding a reason to hate the others and the other 20 trying to sell something.

Not to derail OP but the wife and I decided to kick all social media last year. best decision of my life. People look at me like I have 3 heads because I might be the only 30 year old without social media, but those sites are a giant **** show.

Same. I've been off FB for a couple years now. Every time I see my wife on her FB feed, I'm thankful I don't do it anymore. No twitter/instagram for me either.

I did the same thing a few weeks back. Got rid of Facebook and feel better. It used to be a good site to catch up with friends. Now, all you see is people posting the same **** over and over. Like, wow, that meme you posted was funny the first 6 times that I saw it from other people.

If people were only required to back up what they say on the internet in real life, there’d be no issues. Unfortunately, lots of people live vicariously through an internet avatar, pretending to be someone they’re not. Knowing as long as they keep certain details private, they can’t get caught.

I got you one upped. Never started a single account on FB, IG, Twitter, all that sh-t. And never questioned that decision once. Those I care about in life, I stay in touch with outside of The Facebook.
