"The Bear" speaks up today

I don't even care about Manny. I don't want him fired because that will just extend our misery when another mediocre corch comes in to "rebuild" and we have to give him another X years to be fair. Fvck that. Fire James and let's get going. He had every chance to bring someone in to address his weaknesses and chose not to.

Not if the public is already backtracking because they hurt blake james feelings!

Some of y’all have never negotiated successfully at a high level and it shows. You have all the self awareness of a PETA ad.

Tweet 1: “Hello. We said you sucked on national TV. You heard it, and we know you heard it. Now I’m talking about it again.“

Tweet 2: “Just to show we aren’t unreasonable, we sincerely hope you clear this bar for the season! Look how low it is, shouldn’t be hard to clear it, at all.“

Tweet 3: “BTW, everything else in the athletic department sucks too. Goodnight.”

This must be "ESPN Talking Heads Lets Put Some Positive Light on Miami after Going Nuclear this Past Weekend" Day

But while a good chunk of this is true, the negatives outweigh the positive for me on Manny. I think I have seen enough from him just from a motivational standpoint to say I DONT want him around my recent Top-20 classes. He does little to develop and inspire, despite being really good in front of the microphone. Players are not running thru a brick wall for him. Outside of Rousseau, players are not really being developed. The struggles with mid tier teams concerns me much more than anything we've (or haven't seen) in the last 4 years.....

Essentially, I think the fan base has not been asking for too much of this program : just win the games we are supposed to! Look competent in the games we shouldn't....we have not been able to do that. Not even remotely close.

Wow, definitely has the stench of someone at UM raising **** about the GameDay segment. Surprised that would garner a borderline apologetic response from talking heads at ESPN.

And LOL at Manny being a top tier DC for more than a decade. His defense was successful here with Goldens leftovers and has only regressed. Manny deserves credit for being forward thinking wrt the portal and NIL, but the criticism is more than fair.

If nothing changes within the administration it means nothing if Manny is canned or not.

The football program has been wrecked the past 18 years, and it hasn't been Manny Diaz fault.

Manny isn't a great HC now, but he didn't hire himself, and he is learning on the job. This is absolutely Blake JAMES FAULT.

He inherited Jarren "Hold the ball too long, and party before games, and miss curfew" Williams, and N'kosi "**** Star" Perry at the QB position. He has greatly improved the QB room. He also inherited no viable options at FG kicker. He has fixed that.

So whether Manny is canned or not, if nothing changes up top, I'm with Herbie, nothing changes.

No good HC wants to come to a situation where the administration is apathetic towards football.

The part people like David Hale are not getting is this is becoming a trend with Manny. The team looking absolutely unprepared going into games. LuCanes said it best in another thread..Manny wrote a 4 page rebuttal to the ESPN comments and it looked like he spent more time writing that than on the Michigan State gameplan! Against Bama we didnt look like a team that was given NINE MONTHS to prepare for them. Against Okie State we didnt look like a team that was given a month to prepare. Against UNC, we looked like a team that didnt even practice that whole week prior. The pattern is becoming clear and its too often.

We havent won a game against a real opponent since Nov 2020 against VTech! (Not counting Duke. Sorry but I think Duke literally had the minimum amount of scholarship players needed to even play the game that week. Duke probably would have forfeited if Cutcliffe didnt hate us so much and would be damned to give us the satisfaction.)
