The Bank (8/21)

Strictly from watching camp clips it looks to me like all of the tall/lanky wr's need improvement with footwork. No surprise. In limited viewing, Horton appears most nimble to me (not saying much), followed by Brinson/Ladson while the JC guy appears to lumber when running.
Straight line, red-zone threats - lots of candidates. Using footwork to get in and out of routes and off jam could be problematic for all, though Horton could develop into more of a physical presence. JMO.

Whatever dude, off a 2-minute highlight tape. Let me give you an example of a Lackawanna receiver who took time to adjust. Ka'Raun White played with a kid I sponsored who ended up as a D2 all-conference first-team player at X. Ka'Raun caught 42 balls at Lackawanna his sophomore year. He got to West Virginia in 2015. Started 2 games and caught about a dozen balls. By his redshirt senior year, he caught over 60 balls and a dozen touchdowns. It took him a full year to adjust to P5 play. Maybe the kid helps us this year, but he definitely is going to have to acclimate to P5. Few JUCOs walk right in unless they are a bounce back who got their **** together when they returned to P5.
I’m not saying a juco or any kid can’t take a while to get acclimated but why the **** did we take him if he’s gotta take a while to get acclimated he’s not that talented to waste a scholly on. We need a kid ready to go now not some kid who’s gotta wait 2 years to be game ready wtf are you talking about this isn’t West Virginia man this is Miami we have a legit first round qb who needed a guy to go to when times are tough and we took this guy in the summer just for the **** of it man your coming up with your own narrative I don’t think the kids that talented and never did he’s just a big body hopefully it works out but I’m not surprised he’s not on the fast track to helping us.

It's a real world example of a kid from Lackawanna who developed into an All-Conference player. It just took some time. We have scant camp reports and you want to run with it as gospel. The staff thinks the kid can play at this level. Why not see what he does in games before coming to conclusions? Of course, it is the CIS way to take scant reports and the kid is either a Greentree AA or a bust. The kid is adjusting to competing at the P5 level. I

I’m not going off camp reports I’m going off his tape he’s not impressive maybe I’ll be wrong but I doubt it the kid seems like he’ll be a jag I get it you have an affinity for up north kids or something but I’m no fan of big slow receivers I can’t fake like a kid because Mario decided to take a flyer on a guy nobody else was even thinking of taking.

Personally I am concerned that tamu and Clemson bully our receivers like Clemson did in 2020. Their secondary is dam good. And ladson is soft, key smith has done zlich, George is skinny and X is only one guy. We will fall into their hands if we try to ground and pound.
So what would you do? WR’s will get bullied & we can’t beat them in the box lol 😆

That is exactly the situation with Rooster ... he is reportedly doing very well in the pass catching area out of the backfield ... and he can scoot.
This whole thing is about RB being thin. Think Rooster can carry the whole load for another season. Nahh bro. Throw B Smith in there to get some rep. Best 11 on the field at all times

@DMoney you got any more of that Bank?

I mentioned this after losing Don , Gattis should implement some of Rhett’s stuff from later in the season last year. Oc’s can change things , we saw it last season. It’s ok to bend your scheme towards the talent to help cover up flaws. Bigger splits is one of the areas.
Before the season even started.

Curtis showed his speed running down X preventing him from a td. So I assume Curtis got burned…

For what ain’t that’s why we bring in Colbie Young for. The kid will play early and make plays. Don’t sleep on Horton and I believe Ladson will explode. His physical attribute plus a QB like TVD sky the limit for that kid. Rambo was soso this time last yr until the about 3rd game of the season he explode. I believe Ladson will have the same type of season progress. I think Davon Perry should get play time. The kid remind of CJR the same kid we trying to recruit.

I’ll answer this and your follow up to @Cribby At Georgia Kirby had him play five different positions in in the first five games of his sophomore season. Versatility is a huge deal to the NFL. He came home and played outside corner for the entire season. He progressed as a CB until he got hurt. He payed three games with a bad shoulder, before he left to get it fixed. He wouldn’t have made it to the forth round in last years draft. He had a third round grade last year from the NFL. He’s rated this year as the third or forth best CB depending on who you talk to in the NFL. There are a total of four top tier CB’s in this upcoming draft. Unlike the last two drafts, the next one is very short on top tier CB talent. Him and Ringo are the two biggest and Tyrique is a lot more versatile. We’ll see what happens, but no one would be surprised if he stays healthy and performs well this season, if he was the first one to come off the board. I’m biased for many different reasons, but the NFL doesn’t give a **** what I think. He’s a leader, football smart as fvck, he doesn’t party AT ALL and doesn’t give a **** about shiny toys/money. The kid is a DC’s and front office’s dream. He doesn’t have a shot of getting out of the second group of 20. He’s an early second rounder at worst. The best WR in the country caught a nine yard wheel route on him against Pitt. One catch 😂 he picked the first quarterback taken in the draft. He had one bad half last season, because he was throwing up on the sidelines and he kept playing for his teammates. He’s also the strongest CB to ever play here. He’s broken all of Rolle’s lifting records and that’s coming off of shoulder surgery. He was the best player on our defense last year and he’ll be the best again this year. Quiet CB’s are the best ones. Everyone knows who Ivey is, because his game is loud. He’s an honorable mention all American and the national media doesn’t know him as a Cane or a CB. He’s first team all ACC. The NFL doesn’t care what the media popularity contest looks like either. Let’s enjoy the best CB to play here in almost 20 years. Lastly he’s playing in the system he spent two years playing in at Georgia. Last year was his first in Manny’s garbage. He’s going to own 2022.

went off looking for the alleged Dmoney quote that we had the horses to win the ACC in 2022. found this gem by @Boarcane, who has disappeared. he is close to tyrique and he nailed it.

Believe the slack is going to be picked up by Skinner, expect George to become reliable, and don't forget the RB's catching balls out of the backfield. Maybe more 8-10 yard chunks than deep verticals ... but effective.
You were right about Skinner.

Cause we had no **** choice.
😭😭😭
