The Bank (6/16)

Simpson is over 300 pounds. Please don’t list their high school weights because the kid is in college now and weighs over 300 pounds and is going to be a big contributor for us this year.
The point still remains. We're in year 4 of Mario and have depth issues on the DL with a key point of contention being that we're undersized.

I don't think this situation is dire because this is pretty much par for the course amongst even elite programs. Everybody wants to get bigger.

But we really only brought in 1 interior guy last year and this year, there's not a true space eater we're all in on which is concerning.

Who brought in more than 1 "space eater?"

Watching yall fold on KB like something has changed in the last 4 months is wild. Where was this at before?
It’s no wonder we ain’t bringing in the elite guys at WR. Look at this effort!

Is Calvin gonna play basketball at lsu?

Also our top receiver just went undrafted. That’s a factor for these kids man.

The portal qb is a factor. Nickel and Coleman do absolutely nothing for these kids. No clout

Evans spafford Lopez is a really solid receiver class in a vacuum. The issue is we didn’t land the local five star……again

They likely selling it like how they did it with this guy above who looked good as a frshman te.

he played in like 6 games and avg like a point but you can always sell a dream.

You cannot define Beard by a single recruit's decision. WR play was very good last year.

Anyways, these 17, 18 y/o kids have seen Miami stink it up for a long time. We had a fun year last year and I'm quite optimistic about this year and beyond but it's going to take time to build up our reputation where we're a known commodity again.

Unfortunately, "WR play" and "recruiting" are two different things.

3 ready to play DT's for me. With OL we can afford to develop some guys slowly. At DT we need help immediately so for me the approach is different.
That’s only gonna happen in the portal though and we’ve already seen that’s not really the ideal place for us with that position

they must have cut all the trees down in S.Fla cause for the longest time all you heard was we should never have to leave S. Fla for WR and RB's cause they grow on trees down there.....
Cutting Down Climate Change GIF by European Space Agency - ESA
considering the best wr in the country was a true freshman from where the trees you stated are cut down makes this not a good take.

They still growing on trees the biggest oaks we arent landing consistently but they are easily there.

Yea I hate, cause Beard has been a good on field coach. But he’s left quite a bit to be desired in recruiting. I wouldn’t call him dead weight but there’s just too many misses on blue chippers.
blue chippers that a certain segment of the fan base become obsessed with.

this absolute obsession with any kid from south florida sets the fan base up for disappointment. IDC who is recruiting many of them; they aren't coming

That would be great, because pretty sure he doesn't look sloppy either...
i instantly hit up dmoney an told him what i saw when i saw him live last year.

Kid was pretty put together not sloppy i figure dhe would be a good take. Im sure he is one of our biggest dts right now. If they can get him developed he will be a prety good 1 tech for us.

He almost had a jon ford type build.

I’m in now way shape or form defending Beard. He obviously can’t out pitch LSU on NFL production and development, which is one reason why they have the advantage. The one area he can pitch is our passing attack/system, which he can’t seem to do. To me it’s simple, all Beard has to say is “We just had the number one offense with the body types of George, X, and Brown; Imagine what we can do with you in our offense.” He’s either not saying that, or recruits aren’t buying into that. Mario should either get Beard some help, or find someone to replace him
So get some help from Dawson. He's the OC. We never hear his name mentioned as part of these WR recruitments

This myth of the space eater is really something to behold.

There's no point having an 320+ lbs guy at NT that can't move. The ones who can move are 5-stars and highly coveted.
