The Bank (4/9)

And not to mention, we've firmly planted our flag in Georgia & North Carolina.

It's a fuxkin WRAP for CFB.

I want the fort pierce iol too . We need to start lock down that Vero / ft pierce ,area I think we should go after Vero qb too . In okay with two this class when we could lose one next year to the portal
Wasn't there a LB we wanted from that area couple cycles ago? Think he went to OSU?

No mention of Joshua Sam epelle in this or gaby mock… interesting.
My guess is that this comes down to resource allocation. If we land Matthews to pair with Tatum, Linton, and one other, that’s a strong class to complement the 2026 OL.

The money it would take to secure Epelle is better spent elsewhere, such as securing a high-caliber DT or DE.

If you keep reading to the part about OL you can see he meant Quality over quantity

“Offensive line, like receiver, will be quality over quantity.”
I think there is a TON of quality at the WR position. Our top 8 would start at FSU

The Canes have hosted some of the best players in the country this spring, and they are gaining ground with many of them.

- QB Israel Abrams (Chicago, IL) came on the Canes' radar later in the process, but once he did he flew to the top of the board. His visit was a home run, and the staff moved quickly to secure his commitment despite continued interest from Davin Davidson, Will Mencl and Peter Bourque.

- 2028 QB Knox Annis (Jacksonville) committed to the Canes this afternoon and it's a real commit. They had him at a camp and Shannon Dawson loved his game. Annis goes to the same high school as elite 2028 WR Brysen Wright and the alma mater of Carson Beck. Coach Denny Thompson (Beck's close friend and QB Coach) also works with Annis and raves about him. The Canes will continue to monitor 2028 QBs like Neimann Lawrence (American Heritage) .

- New RB Coach Favian Upshaw has hit the ground running as a recruiter. The Canes are in the driver's seat for physical freak Myson Johnson-Cook (East St. Louis), but they also have a great shot at Ty Keys (Picayune, MS). Keys was all smiles when I interviewed him today, and he told me was up to 92 MPH on the mound as a RHP/OF.

- I expect the WR class to be quality over quality. Tre Moore (Austin, TX) was on campus today and looked the part. He visited with his parents and retains significant interest. Jaden Upshaw (Albany, GA) is trending towards Texas A&M.

- Miami gained a ton of ground with TE Jaxon Dollar (Charlotte, NC) during his visit. They also really like Anthony Cartwright (Detroit, MI) as an all-around TE. The hope is to pair one of them with commit Demarcus DeRoche (Cardinal Gibbons).

- Offensive line, like receiver, will be quality over quantity. Sean Tatum (Fort Pierce, FL) has been a high-priority for a long time and I expect him to be pick the Canes. Mark Matthews (St. Thomas Aquinas) remains the key player in this class. Miami is recruiting other elite tackles, but I'd project Matthews to fill that spot. Jatori Williams (Phenix City, AL) is also a major target on the interior.

- One interior DL name to monitor- Marquis Evans (Birmingham, AL). He is a multisport athlete (basketball) who Miami loves.

- CB Nash Johnson (Alabama) decommitted from Alabama shortly after his Miami visit. The Canes are the favorites.

Just an FYI, Ty Keys is from Poplarville, Ms. which is about 20 minutes north of Picayune. We play Poplarville annually nowadays. Ty is a very patient runner. He likes to wait for the hole to open up, but if it doesn't, he has the strength to make a hole, or the speed to break it outside.

Thought he was from Decatur, IL, moved to Texas for a year, then moved back to East St Louis?
Yes he was at Decatur MacArthur, then DeSoto, then ESTL for his junior and senior year.
I’ve found this particular RB trajectory and moves just in high school interesting…. Why so many moves/transfers?

No one on GODs green earth would move from anywhere in TX to East St.Louis— not like it was a job opportunity and his parents had to move there— there is zero industry in east st Louis other than crime as I recall…. Tell me I’m wrong, I just remember that was not a place you’d even consider driving through back in the day (Past 15 yrs)

“Windows up Rusty!”

My exact thought when he made the move last summer. Luther Burden and Dominic Lovett who are both NFL WR's transferred there but they were at least from the St Louis area. They currently have a QB and OL who moved from Decatur (Central IL) to ESTL. I've stopped questioning these things since this is how high school sports is now.

Mt Carmel who is a football powerhouse in Chicago used to pull kids from Indiana for basketball and baseball back when I was in high school.
