Does anyone really know Baker’s roll in calling the defense? How can we even blame or give credit when there have been ‘inferences’ that Diaz took over play calling for all/some/most defensive play calls since NC State second half I believe?

Regardless I hope the Diaz/Baker duo can keep em under 30!

I support him because when the offense has struggled the defense has been there to pick them up. The dominance in the 4th quarter since Clemson is also impressive. We're seeing improved LB play and more creativity (Couch CB blitz, Phillips playing inside). It's been far from great or dominant but for a unit that replaced starters from 2019 I'm not as down on him as others.

I get Baker is everyone's scapegoat but if we are honest, the defense has played pretty good this season except Clemson, Louisville and NC St.
Offense has had some bad games as well.

I've had mixed feelings about him since last year's VT game. The ultimate question isn't whether he's good or not, it's whether we could get someone else better who would elevate play before next year and what exactly that would take.
