The Arch hype train is derailing already

By definition of what I wrote, ok. I didn't write this originally and didn't think it was necessary, but I was referring to players in college that were polished with no upside.
Based on your user name, I'm also going to give a little grace as the PTSD from The Tua Era has to be something fierce.
how ever you want to spin it, but Tua clearly peaked in college

Your takes are the same ones the experts said about Josh Allen. And Arch is comparable to Josh Allen coming out of college.

The big knock on Allen was an inaccurate arm, how did that critique work out? Arch has similar arm concerns, which will get corrected. His arm strength has been reported to be between Eli and Payton, but considered above average. Those guys were pure pocket passers, Arch is a dual threat qb, who has modeled his game after Josh, his words. Admittedly he throws with unconventional arm angles, but so do alot of rushing qbs.
Scouts have said he more than has the arm talent for tight window throws and the touch on deep balls.
Will he be as cerebral as Payton? Probably not, but he'll get smarter and make better reads.

He's 6'4", 220 lbs, 4.6 speed. Projection and potential is the name of the NFL game. If I'm Jon Sullivan, I drafting him #1.

Here's a list of other dudes with the measurables like Josh Allen had in college:

JaMarcus Russell
Ryan Leaf
Trey Lance
Tim Couch
Akili Smith
Heath Shuler
Zach Wilson
Josh Rosen
Anthony Richardson
John Beck
Jason Campbell
Kerry Collins
Brady Quinn
Kyle Boller
Jeff George
David Carr
Joey Harrington
Todd Blackledge
David Klingler (we destroyed him! haha)
Andre Ware
Rick Mirer

They're not all the same measurables, but similar enough to make the point which is - SAMPLE SIZE MATTERS.

I'm not spinning it at all. I said by definition you were correct. You want a phuccin trophy?

This thread is a prime example of why the media loves Arch

He doesn’t even play here and his threads get more traction/engagement than most of our actual football team

People love to talk about him

I don’t have any strong opinions about him I’m just glad we have a superior QB in Mensah

I've been getting crushed at work and I feel like fuccin off a bit today. I agree with everything you wrote except the bit about not having a strong opinion about Arch. My feelings come more from a general dislike of the Mannings coupled with the insane amount of hype this kid has gotten. That's my issue though.

Just so you know, I don’t share your hatred of the Mannings but I support you anyway

I’m Jeremy Renner to my friends

I'm torn on Arch. I bought into the hype because I think legacies are cool even if overhyped. Let's not pretend like we havent overhyped every Cane legacy that has ever committed. He wasn't good last year but I believe Sark is the most overrated "offensive coach" in any sport on any level. This will be a big year for me making any conclusions. I see what could be, but not frequently enough to believe.

But the key was, Arch said he specifically modeled his game after Josh. Reading comprehension is key on a message board.

This is the stuff you add to the end of your message that is just unnecessary. It's intended as an insult - and if it was good or deserved I would take it - but there was nothing specifically mentioned, to my knowledge, in this thread about Arch modeling his game after Josh. I model my love making after a combination of Ron Jeremy and Peter North, but until I just put that in writing, how would you have known? Instead, I wrote a message about my father sodomizing me anally and how I liked it in response to another attempted insult. You began today's session with a comment to the effect that people on message boards don't know schidt about football. That's not exactly the best way to enlist positive attention from board. It's ok to disagree on the message board. It's healthy in many ways. Adding half-azzed insults to the end of messages where you're trying to make a point dilutes the point you're trying to make.

This isn't me being sensitive. It might be me gas bagging a bit, but the content of what I said is valid. You see, I'm now in the middle of a second paragraph before I mention that I never thought in a million years Josh Allen would be a good pro. I listed all those names to point out how much more common it is for NFL GMs to be wrong about QBs than to be right. I was wrong about Josh Allen. He's exciting to watch. His college highlights looked like a drunken cowboy who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a forward pass. Somehow he improved drastically in the pros. He is the outlier, the exception; not the norm.
