The ACC must go nuclear

You guys are missing the point. I argued FSU not making it in several threads. This is about a conference that is suppose to stick up for their teams. If this had happened to UNC they ACC would go nuclear. I think the question is will they do this for FSU.

.... I don't see it...
And with the playoff expanding next year I don't think it's worth the ACC's effort... Again I'm not saying they shouldn't do something I just don't think they'll feel like the effort for the fight is worth it .... FSU got shut out, it's not gonna change... There will be no over turning before the games are played...
It's unfortunately just another example of the powers that be ******** someone/something blatantly and getting away unharmed.....and well paid for that matter...

Literally doesnt matter, but Bama. It's always been based on the season and not potential.
The committee’s job is to pick the four best teams, not reward four teams for a successful season. It’s literally in the criteria.

Say it louder for the people in the back. Your season success is one part of the equation, not the only.

Like I have been saying, if being undefeated and a conference champ is the only criteria. Then Liberty needs to be in the playoffs.

You missed the “Power 5” part. No undefeated Power 5 conference winner has ever been left out. Remind me, which P5 conference did Liberty win this year?

I don’t think we will find out to much unless Georgia plays their full squad. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of the top players sit for the draft or just don’t give it their all due to the circumstances.
Once again UGA still wins and there is the answer. They are stacked and FSU isn't which is exactly why they were left out. There won't be much if any of a dropoff with UGA running their 2s and 3s

It is worth it to the ACC because if they don't they could lose FSU and if FSU leaves then so will Clemson and you will see the conference start to collapse. Next year the BIG and SEC will make up the entire top 10.

Style points and margin of victory? A win isn’t a win? Awesome.
You are acting like this is something new in college football. This was in a BCS Era, and before. If you don't like it, that fine.

FSU beating Boston by 3, and Alabam beating UGA by 3 are both wins, but they don't hold the same weight.

If you want a straight meritocracy, watch the NFL. College ball has always be who you beat and how you beat them.

Like I said, FSU job was to leave no doubt, well they left doubt and got screwed. I guaranteed if they spanking me like the 2013 FSU, we wouldn't be have this conversation.

Can you spot the difference?

I'm old enough to remember when everyone was sure Nebraska was the greatest team in college football history with All Americans all over the field and upstart Miami was just a speed bump on their way to the National Championship. I'm also old enough to remember Miami being the a clearly better team than Penn State. The season is when you earn the chance to compete for the championship ... who wins can only be determined on the field.

Never said it was new. BCS could at least blame its nonsense on “computers” and hide behind that. That’s not the case now.

The only “new” component is a P5 undefeated conference winner getting left out so Saban’s team can get in.

Any musings on Twitter on how tackling a QB inside their own endzone on two separate occasions or how a RB losing the ball after
he's clearly down (demonstrated on replay) is overlooked by a group of ("alleged") big-time officials?

Tons of them at the time?

That's not the committee problem. ACC needs to get good, and get good fast. Miami, Clemson, and to some degree Louiville better get their **** together fast. If FSU had beat a ranked 10-2 Miami, ranked 10-2 Clemson this year, or spank every team by 30. FSU is in.

Think about this, every other P5 had at least 2 to 3 teams that could have made the playoffs.

SEC: Georgia, Bama, Missouri
BIG10: OSU, Mich, Penn State
PAC: Wash. Oregon
BIG 12: Texas, Oklahoma
ACC: FSU

On neutral field, which one would FSU be favorite against?
Oh totally agree. My point is less about the teams and more about the ineptitude of the conference leadership or lack thereof. The ACC as an entity is a steaming **** wrapped in a used maxi pad soaked in kerosene, lit on fire, and left on the collective doorsteps of every team in it.

Ok lets your logic and put FSU in as a undefeated p5 conference champ. Then you have put Liberty in the 4th spot, they met the same criteria, are you going to punish them because who play?

The other power conference champs have a blemish (Bama and Texas). Liberty doesn't.

You still haven’t answered my question:
Which P5 conference did Liberty win this year?

Ohio State benefited from a bias towards the Big Ten over TCU from the Big 12. TCU won their last game of the season 55-3, to finish 12-1, same as Ohio State. TCU won their last game by 52 points and still fell in the CFP rankings. The Buckeyes lost to unranked Virginia Tech (7-6) by 14 in Columbus. TCU lost by 3 to Big 12 co-champion Baylor, who was ranked in the top 10.

Florida State was screwed by a bias towards the SEC over the ACC. I don’t disagree that they should be in the playoffs. I think they earned it. I think the CFP needed an excuse to put Bama in and Travis’ injury gave them a convenient one.

Clearly an SEC bias.

I wouldn’t have been surprised if Texas would’ve been left out in favor of Georgia if Alabama’s one loss has been to a different team. Especially if it had been a conference game. Or if Oregon had beaten Washington, the Ducks might’ve been screwed in favor of the Bulldogs.
