popped our players little fantasy bubble, and woke them up.

I've thought all year we could take Clemson if it came up - and now that our guys are a bit ****ed off and under no illusions of greatness - I pity the Clemson fools.

We will win this game. Stats don't matter.

Clemson has a lot of talent. So does UM.

But only UM has been dissed, and only UM is ****ed.

I said this in another thread, but it's worth repeating. People might feel differently, but the Pitt loss was not due to lack of talent, but to a lack of focus. They easily could have done the same thing against FSU, UNC, and GT. The same team dominated VT and ND. It would be the same chances against Clemson if Rosier had hit 2-3 more throws and Miami beat Pitt. If anything, the loss helped wake them up. It did take away any cushion for making the playoff, since they might have gotten in with a close loss to Clemson. They have to win now.

The dominant performances you mention vs ND and Va Tech were in front of roaring home crowds at HRS. This will be a Clemson home game.

Call me a dumbass but I think we had a better chance beating Clemson after a loss to Pitt than a win.

Now Herndon and Richards certainly don’t help but I agree it’s the wake-up we needed.

I am glad we lost to Pitt of all teams. They’ve played spoiler to multiple #2 teams and it will give the team a great lesson that no week should you underestimate somebody, especially in conference play.

I also really liked how Richt benched Rosier. It showed Rosier that he’s not entitled to anything being on this team and he is going to have to work his balls off to keep his starting job next year. Richt knew losing to Pitt wouldn’t make or break our season. He knew the Clemson game was what we needed to win to get in.

Rosier getting benched also is going to push N’Kosi to work harder this offseason along with Weldon. I really love the message he sent to the team. He doesn’t care who you are or what position you play. If you don’t bring it every week you’re going to get benched and the next man will be up. No one is irreplaceable. Absolutely love that message.

We’ve played well with a chip on our shoulder. Probably true of most teams. At the end of the day guys still have to go out and make plays. We’ll see what happens

The bright spot of the Pitt game was none other than McCloud. He made several tackles in space. He didn’t miss any tackles. He didn’t get beat in coverage. He was arguably our best defensive player. He’s deserving of all the heat this season. He deserves praise this week. Here’s a tidbit...Richt said of Zach McCloud: “His problem has been wanting to hit a player so hard he just misses him. He did a better job” not doing that against Pittsburgh.

I would prefer undefeated. I've seen it too many times when the surprise unbeaten status is removed deep in the season, and the following game is part stunned and part exposed.

Granted, it's never in a conference championship game. That's why I'm not sure if we'll be hyper or vulnerable.

I agree with Lu's assertion that we need an early lead, some type of 10-0 gap even if it's pure flukes to get there.

Literally nobody thinks the loss was about talent.

That was all execution and focus, and everybody here knows it.

i don't care what anyone says, "losing is never good" or "we ruined a perfect season", etc

i'm glad we lost to pitt

bama losing made the pitt game irrelevant. if we had beat pitt then lost to clemson in the ACC title game bama could have very well gotten in over us still. it's the conference title that gives us too much of an edge to get by the bama bias in discussions

if losing to Pitt made everyone doubt us and **** off our team so that we come out with our heads on fire and leave it all on the field, then i'm all for it

squeaking by pitt in an ugly win wouldn't have taught us anything. I think we have a rebound performance like we did against VT after we played like dog crap against UNC

Exactly, this team hasn't played a good game on the road and needs to prove they can play good on the road without the home crowd.

agreed with playing better at home, but this will NOT be a clemson home game, that's vastly overexaggerated. I would suspect 60-40 maybe 65-35, but vastly different thant 90-10 like most home games are for teams

If anyone wakes up let's hope it's Rosier. He might've played the worst game I've ever seen a QB play where WRs are open all over the place. Add the Oline to that too but I think that has more to do with Richt's running scheme.

No question about it. Had we beat Pitt we would have been # 1 this week and team would have been the talk of the nation. Love is death to Cane team, except for love from our fans. Getting knocked back to 7th signed Clemson's death certificate. Classic battle between a disrespected Cane team with talent and decent coaching against an overblown number one ranked team that can't loose to us. Being in their turf makes it better.

Anyone else think Clemson doesn’t take us as seriously as they should since we lost to Pitt?

DMoney has me fired up.

This team has all the characteristics of classic old Cane teams. If you know anything about them you know that this situation on the road is red meat before hungry wolves. Number one in front of its home crowd primed to get its a$$ kicked. This is not the teams of the last 15 years.
