We need TL and he is a perfect fit here. I'll go out of my way to say that if Diaz doesn't get TL then he is a joke and won't last here. All the headcase stuff regarding TL has been debunked. You do not turn down talent like this ever! I'm confident that Lewis will be a Cane!
Diaz went out to bring JT4 back and is going to turn down T2? Boy if MD don't get this kid he's going to get destroyed by this fan base.

Regardless of being a knucklehead, and that is probably because he is young, does he have the grades and classes to get in to UM? I am all for second chance on kids with potential, but how are his transcripts?

That's a great point. This shouldn't even be a discussion. If Diaz can't close this deal he is a total fraud. There is no reason that Terrence Lewis should wear any other uniform but ours. No reason at all! Nada! Nothing! Zilch! Zero!

Yea he should be a cane if not he's trash

Took James Williams 3.0 to get his commitment.

Don't ***** this up.

Probably a dumb question, but would a blue shirt be a possibility? BS rules:
  • Was provided an official visit to the campus;
  • Had arranged, in-person, off-campus contact with a coach; or
  • Was sent an NLI or other written scholarship offer.
Since Miami had major concerns about his behavior, I thought there might be a chance that none of the above has happened.

Can you imagine the delicious Gator tears if they had to pay more than $250k to steal Marshall from UM and then we landed a 5 star LB as a blue shirt?

Why would you take a blue shirt when you have a ton of other good programs offering you a full ride from the jump

The "full ride" has never really been the issue (at least for kids who report in the Fall), since they get the scholarship one day later (the scholarship can be awarded one day after FALL CAMP starts, which is usually before classes start anyhow, in a normal non-Covid year). In the past, the sticking point was always the "no official visit, no official in-home coaches visit".

He needs a NIL bag from us ASAP

lol, you don't think bag SEC schools aren't going to just redirect funds to NIL bags?

I know many think the NIL stuff will benefit us but imo, it might bring us up on CLOSER to equal footing but at the end of the day, bag schools are still gonna bag via NIL.

No.

Here's the difference, and it's a lot like the "legalize marijuana" argument.

Current "bags" (which are largely run through charities) are unregulated and illicit. Thus, whatever happens...happens in darkness.

NIL is going to be HIGHLY regulated. The process will used "fair market value" of services such as "spokesman" and "endorser". The NIL cannot be arranged by the school itself. NIL money has to be approved IN ADVANCE of actually being paid. Players are going to have to file tax returns and pay income tax.

And, look, a player can still evade the LEGAL avenue of NIL money and take illicit "bag money".

But NIL is not some "substitute" for the bag game.

Schools like Alabama and UGA don’t drop bags. You’re just a hater. (Says Alabama and UGA fans)
