Telling Gattis quotes from Feldman article on Michigan

He doesn't have to fall on the sword, he could just as easily be brought back next year & he can show his play calling & Offensive prowess.

The players are terrible & he's great, so just give him some great players to match his greatness & the results should be similar to Michigan 2021.

It seems plausible enough & I think if Mario really believes this is the case then he can convince the majority of the fan base to back off & give Gattis another shot.

It's simply a matter of communication; if he puts it out there that this is the plan he can turn the tide & extend some leeway in his favor for year 2.

He doesn't have to change anything realistically speaking after this season, especially considering if he signs a top 5-10 class & brings in some impact Portal players.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing it happen tbh, I don't think Gattis will work here at all, but I'm not an expert & don't know sh*t about Offense as is, so I'm more than willing to be wrong like I usually am.

And I'm not being sarcastic either, if Gattis is really who this article says he is, then he actually deserves at least 1 - 2 more seasons with his own recruits to show how great he really is.

There is upside to keeping Gattis.
1. Millions saved
2. If he fails, Mario will have something to sell to '24 recruits.
3. Every kid that does stay will know the offense as it was taught in '22.

Downsides
1. We could still suck in '23 even with more kids they hand-picked. Likely around 22 from '22 (including Portal) and 35-40 from '23 (including portal). for a combined 60ish of 85.
2. TVD and other "keepers" could be out the door leaving us searching for even more portal kids
3. Fans will burn Mario down at the first sign of under performance moving forward if he keeps Gattis.

I mean, thats kind of the point I was making.

We have had one narrative of this piece of trash, but now there is an article by a reputable journalist in a reputable publication citing and naming those sources of parties that were definitely involved, and are painted as unbiased and it paints a completely different picture than you present(ed). And two of the responses are "there is a lot of bs" and "the article ain't really accurate"...well, ok. I'm sure there is more nuance and grey area to the discussion, and I'm sure you have some sound sources, but they don't exactly corroborate what was said in this piece outside of Gattis just so happens to be a guy that is likely tough to get along with. Literally every other aspect of that article refutes CIS narratives. Bruce Feldman, of all people, is lying or has been duped? Maybe...it is certainly possible. But this isn't some jabrone writing an article for WolverinesInSight, its one of the best in the business and the response is he got it wrong? The fact checkers over at TheAthletic just let this one slip right though. ok, its possible. Maybe Biff Poggi likes tell people this version of the story because it makes him look better. That is certainly possible, too.
I understand your stance. The truth is hardly ever the truth in most media cases in my experience. At least when it comes to sports. Feldman is legit but he can only report what he’s told to report. Whomever’s truth is conveyed to him. I’m not trying to take this the conspiracy theorist route I’m just saying there are a million sides to the story is all.

1. Article is super pro Gattis as an OC.
2. Article is direct quotes from Jim’s right hand man, Biff.
3. Biff appears to not be lying as nobody lies that well and he has a stellar reputation that he obviously cares about.
4. Jim must have known what Biff was gonna say.

All that said, seems to me that not letting Gattis pick his assistants was a major issue based upon that article picture of Gattis being a insecure. Yep.

Let's pretend those 1 and 2 were Dorsey and Jason Candle (Toledo HC), it's easy to say why both said no to Miami regardless of Mario.
Yeah its just hard to imagine him going from those 2 to Gattis. There were those Briles rumors too. I just wonder how far down the list Gattis was.

... the fact we have a fan base that thinks Mario Cristobal needs a Bruce Feldman article to help him see the forest for the trees with Josh Gattis—who was far from his first- or second-choice offensive coordinator option—is laughable.

Mario: "Well I was iffy on Josh Gattis and unsure the direction to go and despite seeing the product on the field, it was an article from Bruce Feldman on Gattis' time at Michigan that really pushed me to make a change for '23."

C'mon now.
Send this over to Highsmith.

The article has bs in it too. He didn’t have complete control over that offense his last year. It’s one of the reasons he got as butthurt as he did. JH went in to 21 on the hot seat and it was all hands on deck with the offense . There’s a reason he brought Weiss in. The offense had been struggling.

I think he got butthurt because he wanted Michigan to give him a raise to match the Miami offer and when they didn't he got butthurt and left. As with most things it all comes back to money.

Our issues go far beyond Gattis and his complete ineptness. You do not play like this team is w/o extreme dysfunction up and down the staff on both sides of the ball. As bad as our offense has been, our D has sucked just as bad. Shocked that someone with this much experience (and success) would have a team struggling so much on… this is not just about the players.

Mario has not succeeded, he’s failed. No way to sugar coat it. Recruiting is not going to help this. We have talent… at least to beat Duke and MTSU. Instead we got crushed.

Scary times ahead.

I told people here when this staff was hired I was concerned about this season because everyone we hired were used to being in programs with top talent. This staff is made up of a bunch of coaches who are good at getting elite players to reach their potential not coaches that have to completely develope guys from the ground up.

Not trying to defend the coaches. I want Gattis gone, but our D looks bad because of what we have. It is so hard to assess Steeles with these dudes man. We do need some coaches gone, but not sure Steele should be one of them. The players also can go with Gattis. They have no heart! Even if someone is not being coached properly, you can always see heart. None of these dudes have any.

Many intimate details about Gatass’es tenure at Michigan have been exposed after he was hired by Mario. Very few had an inkling as to the issues on or off the field beforehand and understandably so since many Canes don’t follow Michigan closely.

Not only have stories surfaced about Gatass’es tumultuous tenure at Michigan been exposed, he’s proven on our field he’s not the high falootin’ OC that won the Broyles.
nah but broyles!
