Telling Gattis quotes from Feldman article on Michigan

What benefit does it yield keeping him if he's the reason the offensive side of the ball is falling apart, both on the field and in recruiting?

Trying to help him out to save face maybe? They did have a relationship previously. And while he has been a disaster hire so far, he did leave a pretty good situation to come here. Don't know but it's not a matter of should he fire him, it's he has to at this point. Relationship or not this is just not working and you have to make changes.

Mario has to bring in not just a proven OC but someone well respected that runs a spread offense. You can be a physical team ina spread. Tennessee does it. I was on the wait and see Gattis train but chemistry a side some of his play designs are awful with no options for the QB to go with the ball. We need better talent, but we also need a better OC. Gattis is not it.

Maybe, but it was only for 1 season. Gattis was a major reason Harbaugh was on the hot seat entering 2021. They turned it around after hiring a whole new offensive staff, incl. Matt Weiss. And if Gattis stayed at Michigan, he likely would be looking at his first head coaching job this off season. He decided to leave, Michigan didn’t care, and who looks like they made the right decision now?

And who is the common denominator in two toxic coaching situations?
Michigan wasn’t going to renew his contract anyway.
