Tell me what you see? 2015 Defense

Speaking of DTs, what on earth happened to Corey king and earl Moore?

Nothing. They're exactly what they were expected to be when they were recruited.

yeah, i get that but I don't even think they play in garbage time.

Someone posted a link to an article where Golden said that he wanted to redshirt moore and jelani hamilton.

I thought Moore has been playing on that wedge part of the punt team, no?

Armbrister will be back next season as long as he doesn't bolt off to the nfl. He's actually a redshirt junior. He only played on practice squad as a freshman.

For some reason he's listed as Senior but it's a mistake.

Can someone actually clear this up? I've heard it both ways and never know the answer.

It's interesting. His bio on hs.com says he sat out his freshman season and played on the practice squad yet there's no mention that he took a redshirt. I looked at the game by game breakdown of 2011 and looks like he played in 2 games that year - MD and OSU. So, it's possible that he received a medical RS that year. Maybe it hasn't been approved yet?

I thought he played some on specials as a freshman.

We are good at burning a year of eligibility for a few plays. Gayot is going to be one of those this year.

Assuming 'The Clown Show' is gone I am excited to see what a real coaching staff can do with these guys.

There's definitely enough talent to produce a good defense.

Are linebackers are horrible... Are dline is young with no depth... And are secondary is overated .... Ugly

Our secondary is talented. All if them were recruited highly. But they can't shine in this system. We only caught like 2 picks from the secondary all year. How is Michigan state with 3-star guys playing better defense than Miami with 4/5 star guys? It makes no sense

If you care to provide any kind of rationale for your thoughts, perhaps we can discuss it.

He does have a point... All I see is hype... We have been boasting about our secondary for a while and they maybe the worst wr have witnessed in the past 10 years... However, Bruce Johnson was quite frustrating... Outside of DP and the blitz specialist in Armbrister thry are quite underwhelming at line backer... DE'sare young but we still lack DT's... I think we're overrating our talent again...

They *look* worse than what you have witnessed in the past 10 years. I think both of you are looking at results. "But, it's all about results!" No. It's all about what is being asked to get results. The context of why we see what we see. There is an abundance of talent in that secondary and along that DL.

Every year, I have this debate. Every year, I get the PMs and negs. Every year, we're then surprised by the number of UM players who hang around the NFL much longer than expected or flat out start on teams. Do people understand that our opponents - who look better - don't have the same (or sometimes any) players who get any kind of look from the NFL?
