Tee Martin

All facts, he wasn't fired from USC because he was doing a bang up job lol.

I just know a lot of people on here don't really watch a whole lot of teams outside of Miami, Bama or UGA, so they tend to not be aware of the atmosphere around college football, but just about anybody who keeps up with USC's program will tell you Tee Martin was an awful play caller & his offenses couldn't run the ball either.

He's a good recruiter, but our Offense wouldn't improve much with him calling plays. There's a reason USC forced Clay Helton to fire him & hired Kliff Kingsbury, there's also a reason his only other offers are LVille & GTech, those are programs that are looking for a recruiter not a true OC.

I hope people pay attention to the Red flags & don't fall for it.
He had the #13 and #20 offense in the country Calling plays at usc in 2016 and 2017 but “our offense wouldn’t improve much with him calling plays”.. I’m sorry what? We have been ranked 54th or something like that in 2016, in the 60s in 2017 and in 2018 in the 100-110 rank in offenses in the country. And he’s not a good recruiter he’s an elite recruiter there’s a difference

Look at his QB in those 2 seasons. Yes, I think he is better than Mork(Some kid who played madden a few times is better than Mork), but we can do a lot better than him.

Jesus Christ.. Nothing against him because I actually like the guy, but I don't think Tee is the kind of innovative mind we need. But at this point I'd gladly take him for his recruiting.

There's one HUUUUGE problem with hiring Tee though. We all expect Searels to be fired. Tee coached with offensive line coach Neil ******* Callaway, who was also fired, at USC. And for those who don't know who Callaway is, he was Richt's OC at UGA before Bobo.

Isn't that exactly what we need?

Brock... We would improve slightly, not enough to contend for the ACC. And I said on page 3 I would take him as a recruiter/analyst on staff, but not as an OC calling plays.

He just got fired from USC why you think other major schools aren't looking to add him on their staff? His only other offers are LVille & GTECH, pay attention Brock.

Would take Tee as a recruiter/analyst or even QB coach if it meant Jon getting fired.

But if yall don't watch a lot of USC football I encourage you to go on YTube & watch games he's called over the last 2 years... No bueno.

I agree with you but Richs on borrowed time, maybe Martin can at least help us land a blue chip qb recruit for the next coach.

I could just see it now.
New young OC from lower ranked school comes in ready to light the world on fire.

Cmr says I’ve been doin this longer than you son and your gonna have to tone some of this stuff down. It just doesn’t work like that over here in big boy football.

Young OC proceeds to show offensive film of every top ten team as well as the top rated offenses.

Cmr: you don’t inderstand son. We have to slow it down. This hurry up air raid is just a fad. I was a young whiper snapper like yourself when ole Bobby was around and he taught me a thing or two. These plays have worked for 30 years

New OC: wtf am I doing here?

Cmr is the scorpion on the back of the frog.
And if it took him this long to realize that there needs to be change then we iknow what’s gonna happen even if he hires an OC. A lot of head butting.
I don’t think cmr has the balls or self recognition to tell some dude half his age “here you go son take the keys and take us to the promise land” I’ll handle the politics and the recruiting.

id take him. Absolutely One of the best recruiters in the country(we need help badly in that department too) and a good coach. Usc offense was extremely young this year and Jt Daniels didn’t really live up to the hype but the previous years when he was the oc at usc his offense was very explosive. He’s also been their receivers coach for a number of years and they have been stacked with big play receivers since he’s been there
Solid argument, but **** no, no more fired corches...

All of those are good points. And its not like there are coaches fighting over the job right now. No way the guy he does hire is as good of a recruiter as Tee either.

Hiring Tee Martin, who was so terrible at USC they stripped him of playcalling duties after their fourth loss and replaced him with the OC we should've pursued all along (Kingsbury), would be a joke.

USC rivals Miami when it comes to perpetually underachieving despite its many built-in advantages, so let's hire the playcaller they couldn't wait to get rid of. Sounds like a great idea.
One could, should, and would argue those built in advantages are far superior to same built in ones at UM

USC got rid of its two best recruiters -- Martin and the defensive line coach Udeze. I wouldn't mind the Canes picking up both of them, in some capacity. If we don't fix the recruiting nothing else is going to fall into place.

USC had so many offensive problems it's difficult to stick them all on Martin. There were two touted young quarterbacks -- Fink and Sears -- who flopped in spring. That stuck the burden on J.T. Daniels, who originally was supposed to be in high school this year before he hustled matters and graduated a year early. It was an 18 year old true freshman quarterback responsible for the offensive numbers quoted so often in this thread. There aren't too many examples like Lawrence of Clemson, for anyone eager to push the always-clever outlier angle.

Clay Helton worried he was on the verge of being fired himself. That's why he made so many desperate changes.

Tee Martin would not be an exciting hire. USC boards have criticized him for years but that's true of every offensive coordinator since Norm Chow. Trojan fans can't let go of that era.

The Martin schemes are similar to what Richt uses in the running game. But the passing schemes are much better, IMO. Greater variety of route trees that feed off of each other and allow multiple options to the quarterback on each level.

I would definitely favor this move, as opposed to Richt maintaining the status quo. I don't think the Canes are in any position to demand an elite coordinator with great recent results who leaves a different major program to come here under an embattled head coach.

We either have to take a stab at an upstart guy or settle for someone like this who might be undervalued.
