Team Turning On Golden?

I hope we lose to FAMU

I can't actively root against us, but if it meant Golden an co would be gone I might have to

Scuba I'm not trying to be a jerk but I've simply NEVER understood this mentality.

If you LOVE the program the way all of us do. If you CARE for the program the way all of us do. If you want WHAT'S BEST for the program the way all of us do.

How can you NOT root for whatever needs to happen, to happen and happen quickly...so we can STOP having wait for something happen.

I remember all the fights on Grassy when people like me were openly rooting for USF during Randy's last year......things are not going to "magically" happen. Golden isn't just going to get fired. We are dealing with one of the worst administrations in all of college football, their hand needs to be forced otherwise they are content to mire in mediocrity and give this loser another year.

Go Arkansas State. I'll say it loud and proud while donning my UM gear. It's what's best for the program going forward. The on-the-field damage is already done.

Golden's seat is hot, if he has half a brain he goes balls to the wall the rest of the way. Go down guns blazing for god sake

He doesn't know how--that is precisely the problem here.

The guy has been such an adherent to his outdated philosophy that he's never bothered to learn anything else.

This. He is what he is. Not coaching material for the U.

This. All of this. If there was some hope that Al could turn it around and we could win with him, fine I'll root for the guy. What's the ceiling with Al though? 8 or 9 wins? Where are we going to go with this guy? National championship? No. Playoff contender? No. Beating FSU, becoming ACC champs? No. None of those are even remotely possible with Al as our coach. Ever. So when that becomes perfectly clear, you have to root for whatever it takes to get him fired as soon as possible so we can move on.

Nobody has to root for losses. Losers lose football games so it will take care of itself.

The qb thing is stupid. Both d and Pete said kaaya was the better qb all of camp so he deserved to win the job. The coaching stuff is something I can see happening tho.

Pete was saying Kaaya was better last fall. No disrespect to DMoney, but that is an opinion from 2 guys. They ain't coaches and one dude has gone beyond the stalker line. To think he would say any other QB was looking good. Would just be an insane thought.

I believe what they say, he probably was better in practice. That doesn't mean he will be better on the road for his very first game out of HS on national tv with a stadium full of crazy fans. I would have started the senior just for that reason alone. At this point I'm not blaming Golden, I'm blaming the higher ups in the school.

They should be looking for a coach right now and fire Golden as soon as possible, no F around. I don't believe they care enough though, we have seen this over and over again with the coaches they hire. After seeing those formations they ran was enough for me, they don't know wtf they are doing, get rid of them. Again, blame the one's at the top, go after them to make the right changes. It sucks for us fans and players, but you have to have the ones at the top do their jobs and they haven't.

Where in **** have you guys been the past two years???!!!

Two weeks ago, there were maybe half a dozen of us saying the same things for YEARS, and catching all kinds of crap from everyone else.

Welcome to the Dark Side.

We keep it real.

Well, the coaches are coaches, and they felt Kaaya was clearly better. Starting Kaaya was a very ballsy decision that they wouldn't have made unless they felt strongly that he was the better quarterback.

Franchise's post in this thread summed up the situation to perfection. The players are ****ed that the quarterback who started had a JV playbook. It was a mistake and Golden has basically admitted it.

I could never root against the Canes. Never.

And that's just the thing...I'd argue you're not. I'd actually argue that not only are you rooting FOR the Canes in this scenario, you're rooting for what's best in both the near and long term.
Like everything else in life it's a matter of perspective. I coudl likewise NEVER root for an underqualified coach to buy any additional time at the helm of my beloved program.

Leave nothing to chance...we need him gone and the only way our inept administration will act is if something drastic happens.

Ark State would qualify as drastic.

He would HAVE to be fired, right? Right???

Well Muschump didn't get fired after they lost to that FCS team last year and a lot of people were hoping he did. It ended up being 2 negatives....for one he didn't get fired and two it was an embarrassment to Florida's program and was detrimental to their recruiting efforts leading up to signing day. If losing to FAMU meant for sure that Golden would be gone then I wouldn't mind the loss....but if Golden survives the year...it would so embarrassing and a lose lose for the program.

Good thing is as long as Golden is in charge you don't have to worry about who you are "rooting" for. Just watch the game and that fat **** will take care of the rest for you.

The whole process of hiring another guy will just slow this crap down even more.

There's always a transition period with a new hire, but some of you guys are really embellishing this perceived rebuilding.

We don't play in the SEC West, we play in the ACC Coastal. Outside of FSU, we don't play any top tier teams. If you combine the talent on the roster with a quality coaching staff, winning the ACC Coastal and making it to the Championship game is more than do-able immediately.

The harsh reality is that we have one of the worst coaching staffs in College football and its killing us.

You're a 100% correct......IF we hire the right guy. I have ZERO faith that this administration will make the correct choice and then the cycle continues.

I am in no way advocating that we keep the current staff in place, it's just depressing.

I'm there. not sure I could root for the FAMU loss since that would be historically bad but and Arky St loss would probably do the trick

I will never root against the Canes, that would mean I was rooting against our kids, never going to happen. At this point I don't even blame the staff anymore, it's the higher ups that should be on those banners mid season if we don't beat Nebraska which is a reach right now. Those are the A-holes you need to go after, they are the ones who have dumped on Miami football. Start with that dumb *** Shalala on the banners, it starts at the top.

I was on the road when we lost to USF in Shannon's last year. When I got home and watched the game I was extremely angry, frustrated, sad, you name it. What made it worse was I was my brother-in-law's house to watch it and he's a USF alum.

After about 5 minutes of listening to his ****, I went to the laptop and the first post was about Shannon being fired. It was as if a thousand pounds had been lifted off of me. I didn't know which way we'd go, but at least I knew I'd never have to watch that mumbling idiot coach my team again.

When Golden has his GTFOOH moment, I know I'll feel the same way. I don't know which way we will go to move forward, but at least we won't have to hear this snake oil salesman pitch his **** about our team anymore.

I think the problem most of us fans have, is we expect the admin to care just as much as we do about this football program. They don't. The ones in place now never will.

We need to make a coaching change right now so we can keep the classes together, wait till the end of the season and it turns to ****. The higher ups running the school suck big time, go after these smucks, they are the problem.

Well where are the leaders on the team? Which players are goin to step up and rally the players together to play for themselves?

This is something that has been lacking forever with this team. This team is littered with state champions and highly respected players from South Florida. Some players on this team need to look eachother in the eyes, say F the coaches, administration and even the fans and play hard for themselves.

This is going to be a long long long season if the players not only give up on the coaches but also give up on eachother

It is hard to do that when they do not believe in the system or coaches. I mean what do you say? "Let's get it together folks and lose?" Cause under these coaches and ****ty play calls and systems they have lost, despite playing their asses off.

As far as the quarterback issue: Kaka had no business...none...starting on Monday. I don't care if he seems like the better physically gifted option, no freshman will succeed his first game in a hostile place against a decent better coached team when our coaches hamstring the play call. I mean, what an absurd way to start the season. Put a veteran in like Heaps, run the full offense, and if you then stumble...well, then you can start grooming Kaka with the two cupcake games.

''I don't care if he seems like the better physically gifted option, no freshman will succeed his first game in a hostile place against a decent better coached team when our coaches hamstring the play call''

Try telling that too 80% of the moron posters here. I said it in a few threads before the game, they still wanted Kaaya. Rarely does a young QB do a great job on the road in a big game, a freshmen almost always lays an egg. When I'm betting games that's one of the first things I look for. I'll have to say Miami has some of the dumbest fans in the country. They think flying a flag after the first game is a good thing, WTF? Halfway through the season if they don't play well and Golden has lost the team is another story.
Fly the ******* flag. When Golden see that ****....He knows. Him and No D live in a echo chamber patting each other on the back from crap. Makes no difference. If the team is incompetent. It just is. We don't need to wait till mid season. After getting blasted by UL, we waited 9 months to get blasted again after they lost tons of players and their staff. If that is not proof, what else is?

I understand why those would root against Miami, it will spur the changes that need to be made, and happen sooner. However, even though Shannon was fired after we lost to USF, which was deserved, I'm still ****ed we lost that game.

And you should be ****ed...but at least there's a **** of a silver lining. The quicker we move in a different direction the quicker we get past all of the next set of issues that will inherently come when you change coaching staffs.

That's what some on this site don't understand or grasp. It's GOING to happen...why on earth delay it or wish for it to possibly get delayed?

Probably was aimed at me as it should be, I was wrong!!! What really opened my eyes was when someone put up those screen shots of our kids out of position and lining up for a run with 9 in the box. Sometimes I get so excited to watch canes football I don't see that stuff, I'll be watching for it now. There is just no excuse for these mistakes, a good high school coach would have made play changes but these coaches didn't. They should be fired today and be replaced with real coaches. Again, I was wrong, you guys were right!!!
