Also, if you notice carefully, I put "just like me" after that hard-headed, know everything stage." That wasn't written in past tense.

In all seriousness, they're pretty good kids. Thank God their mother is a better parent than I am.

Exactly. I started getting tatted in college so i get it. But at least take your time with it. Especially with the things they get which are just copied and pasted off of each other’s IG pages.

There's just so much talent in this room. Heck, Tommy Kinsler transferred because he wasn't going to see the field, and now he's projected to start at right tackle for a team that just made the College Football Playoff semifinals. As you said, staying healthy is the biggest key.

To add to this, Tommy Kinsler transferred after the playoff run, so the staff had a full month to evaluate every offensive lineman on the roster, including Jackson Cantwell. They invested heavily to retain key players, yet they still let Kinsler walk a player who, as you pointed out, is expected to start at Ole Miss.

That tells me this staff knows exactly what they have in that offensive line room. There's no way they would have let a starting caliber player like Kinsler transfer if they didn't believe they already had better options on the roster.
 
Surprised to hear Upshaw may straight up beat out Josh Moore. Was thinking it would be a battle between Moore and Jacobs. Still think Jacobs will end up starting at Z and playing way more than people think. Dawson has been looking for that speed at Z for 3 or 4 years.

He was getting some buzz last year as someone that could develop into a good one

Why don't you trust Mario? Since becoming Alabama's offensive line coach in 2013, hasn't he consistently put dominant offensive line play on the field?

With the exception of 2022, can you honestly point to a single season since 2013 where one of Mario Cristobal's offensive lines wasn't a Top 25 unit nationally?

Whether it was Alabama, Oregon, or Miami, his offensive lines have consistently been among the nation's best. He's coached multiple No. 1 units, won the inaugural Joe Moore Award at Alabama, and developed countless NFL offensive linemen. Regardless of the school or roster, the one constant has been elite offensive line play. At some point, the track record speaks for itself.

“I trust Mario” is up there with stuff like “yeah prove it on the field”

It’s just boring add-nothing stuff to discussions

So my default isn’t “trust Mario” (because it’s just boring) but same time their actions say to me they like what they got

We had several years of almost no injuries on the OL. Depth was rarely tested (thank god)

McCoy had some good moments late in the season IIRC

Why would that annoy you? They are referring to the top 5 outside CBs. Keionte Scott played Nickel as you know and it's a completely different position to what Lucas, Frederique, O'Connor, Brown and Antoine play.

People forget that against both Stanford and Cuse that Miami had a donut with about 2 minutes to go in the first half (at home). Things had gotten that bad for the offense. It was the very definition of the word -- malaise
