Has a chance for a very special freshman season. If a WR doesn’t emerge Dawson can get so creative with that TE room.
I honestly forgot he was on the team until a few mins ago when Dmoney just mentioned him on the podcast. The player getting literally ZERO pub since we signed him is Bauman from Tulane. Upperclassmen who has the size and comes in with 13 TDs you’d think he’d get more hype.
It’s why I don’t get too caught up in team recruiting rankings. I look at player rankings firstTop of this class is very impressive. 4-5 true freshman will play against the Irish.

NCAA 26 has him rated higher than Lofton. He should be good for at least 7+ TDs this seeason and to allow the Freshman TE's to redshirt. Nickel's brother should have a role as a backup as well.
I don’t even know whining the team anymore. I’ll wait to see who plays against ND but I would assume Bauman will get a lot of snaps cause he is grown and can block. Lofton isn’t blocking ND defensive line.
I try to look at the signees and determine who could potentially be top 100 picks.
Base it on measureables, talent, with size.
2025 class has several players that can end up top 100 types.
Pringle if he gets to 190 plus with his 10.58 speed and his quicks can.
Schott with his speed and physical toughness at TE can.
Gilbert with his length can, and he has sneaky athleticism.
.
Moore absolutely can.
Toney can if he runs a good time.
Buchanon if he can get to 310 ish and play C/G.
Wilkerson at 6'6 330 with his athleticism has the upside.
Lowe at DE absolutely.
Donta Scott with his size and athelticism yes.
Wiley at 6'4 239 with his speed absolutely.
Antone and Fitzgerald in the secondary have the size and talent just depends on what position they end up at.
no hype bc unfortunately he’s not good. Target share, target rate, yards per route run, yards per team pass attempt all horrendous each year. Will probably play inline on bigger personnel packages. Lofton and probably Schott above him slot and wide. Unfortunately just a case of high td rate. Will be a non factorThe player getting literally ZERO pub since we signed him is Bauman from Tulane. Not a turnI honestly forgot he was on the team until a few mins ago when Dmoney just mentioned him on the podcast.
imo likeI'm curious for the playcallers and wannabes on here, where do you line him up on the field? Split end and treat like a WR? I know he's strong. But he's still too light in the pants to be in line, no?
2025 and 2024 were pretty much the same on a per player basis despite being over 10 spots in the rankings difference
All those stats are per target, per route, per pass attempt, and share of totals. Run heavy has nothing to do with it. And these are good stats, ones that tell the story of what’s going on on the field. If he was better he’d have gotten the ballI watched several of Bauman's games after he signed on as a transfer. He is a finesse blocker but really good at it, and he runs great routes and has soft hands. Kid should be very productive for us. He'll be our #1 TE given they're using Lofton in a hybrid role and will probably motion him all over the backfield pre-snap.
Strongly disagree. You're looking at his stats, not his field presence. Tulane was run-heavy with very little receiving action for the TEs.
So to echo @grover point you still didn't watch the games only diving into statsAll those stats are per target, per route, per pass attempt, and share of totals. Run heavy has nothing to do with it.
