Tarholes are going to be a tougher game than I thought...

Vegas coming down from -6 to -4. I wouldn't touch it at 6 but 4 makes me giddy.
I thought the spread would be -3.5 and I feel that is where it will end up. When ESPN start talking about their D-Line and their win over an SEC team along with showing all of our sack from week one and highlighting our tackles, people will easily take 4 points on the home team. Then they will bring up a game 6 years ago and brain dead gamblers will throw more money at it.

Edit: I think the spread should be -3.5 but we win convincingly by 18

I sure hope all you tough, ball holders are correct and we win by 18. I just want a ******* win.

I am heading up to the game this weekend and I think we are going to have our hands full with the ol' tarholes. I think we win 24-21, but it will be a close one. I think most of us think it will be.
Watched the Mack Brown video attached, it was interesting. His take on things, you can tell he is one of those wise ol' coaches. I like Mack like I liked Mark Richt, just a couple good old boys. I wonder how long Mack will be able to go until he gets run down by the seasons. He is a great person like Richt, but he isn't a spring chicken any longer and the coaching takes a toll on you these days.
Anyway, I thought Mack was a good listen if you haven't heard him or know him. He talks a bit about how he does things and some about us. He throws a bit of knowledge in there that, maybe, only the seasoned vets know.
It will be tough whoppin' his *** on Sat. night, but Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. See y'all Sat. at the game! GO CANES!! :neonu::11263272045-489f4f7972-o::stormwarningflag-sm:

Dang, I wasn’t sure what to expect but I enjoyed that video. I lived in Texas with a huge Texas fan as a roommate so we watched all Miami and Texas games together so feel like I know a bit more about Mack Brown and I completely agree with your write up. Class act 100 % and I think although I think Manny will run up score if given opportunity (because it’s the old Miami thing to do) I hope Mack has success at UNC and helps ACC as far as depth of quality opponents.

You crazy if you think UNC really has a chance... and what’s that based on? Their play against USC?!?! Stop it. I don’t see Miami winning by less than 13.

Um, how about the last 4 times we've played them in CH? lulz.

It will be a close game but good guys win - 26-20.

Every game this season we will have to deal with ,”this game will be tougher than I thought” type of posts

Yep! Hate those posts as well as the “Until we prove otherwise...” posts. Both are equally annoying.

31-16 Canes. 2-3 sacks on Howell, and 2-3 turnovers. Williams will have a solid game, the RBs will pile up the yards.

I can't fcking believe this nonsense. Even for CIS, this thread is an abomination.

Do we tend to sht the bed a few times a year? Yes.
Could this be one of those times? Yes.
Do other teams play their best against us? Yes.

But for fck sake, man the fck up. There isn't a single reason to worry about UNC. Not one. They don't have a single player who's better than the guy we'll line up across from him. They don't have some savant coaching staff. They literally don't have anything that's better than what we have, so there's no reason to assume they'll have the slightest success against us.

There just isn't any reason to fear anyone on the schedule this year. We saw it with uf...America thinks they're a much better team, but they couldn't beat us, we did that to ourselves. I won't say we'll win the rest of our games, but there's no reason to assume we'll lose any of them in particular.

There's no good reason for us to sht the bed a few times each year. Hopefully that's one of those negative cultural things that TNM will undo.

If the OL and JW don't play much better, I could easily see us 0-2.

Yep. I ask...what's the more likely scenario...especially given it's a night game.

- Same OL lineup gives up a lot of pressure to JWill. JWill makes bad decisions while feeling the rush, throws a couple INTs. Offense struggles on third down. Our defense is on the field a lot due to the offense's woes. We eek one out (or lose).

or

- Same OL lineup all of a sudden plays much better, protects JWill, giving him time to throw. JWill shreds UNC defense and our defense plays downhill. We win running away.

WTF... Lol
Nope. USC is no where near as good as the media hyped them up and just because UNC beat them doesn't mean they're any better than they were last year... But guess what we are!

This game is over before it started.
UNC is definitely better than last year. I don't agree with op that the game will be really close but this isn't the 2018 UNC team

So you're of the opinion that those 5 guys have no chance of improving and that a major step down in competition will have no affect on their play?

I'm not expecting the tackles to morph into Bryant McKinnie and Jaoquin Gonzales but to not expect at least mild improvement from guys after their first playing time ever seems a little overly pessimistic.
