Tarholes are going to be a tougher game than I thought...

That is ******* awesome.

Pretty simple.... Show this to your teammates and say lets go out there and kick their *** and shut their entire fanbase up.

This is what Miami used to do to opponents. Their fans would leave by halftime or the 3rd quarter

Sometimes I wonder if anyone watched us play last year. We should always expect to drop a game until we prove we won't.
We sometimes play down to the level of an opponent. Too many times we get shocked by an opponent we expect to beat. PSU for NC game in '87 Fiesta Bowl. We got outsmarted by Sandusky and Paterno. (Yeah, I guess Sandusky drilled us on the *** which we didn't expect.) Another was Bama in '93 Sugar Bowl. We thought we would beat them without too much trouble.

Know that UNC is nowhere near the level of those two teams but we should go in expecting a tough game and not be overconfident.

Don't get all the " We gonna roll UNC easily" replies. Of course we WANT that to happen, but UNC beat a ( I think) ranked SC team and came back to do it. We have lost to them in recent years and we know our struggles the last , oh, 15 years, so anyone who doesnt think going in that this is a tough little game is delusional.

IDK how you can down vote this video. He's a very likeable guy who seems to be all about his team. He is certainly complimentary about Manny and the Canes.

He will have his team prepared. We should win but I agree, it won't be as easy as we hope. I found it really interesting to hear he has been using ACC refs at practice to make the kids aware of certain penalties and what can be called.

South Carolina wasn't ranked. Secondly, UNC was getting their crap pushed in by a mediocre .500 team for **** near the entire game, and then lucked into a win due to the Gamecocks being one of the worst coached teams any of us have ever seen. Why am I even bringing logic into this? We have idiots in the fanbase, unfortunately this board tends to attract the worst.

I expect this game to go a lot like our matchup with Duke in 2017. We were coming off a shootout with Toledo at the Rock, and Duke has exceeded early-season expectations by beating UNC and a really good Northwestern team. Much like this week's game, the line for that one also opened at -5.5 Miami. Lots of pundits, delusional Duke fans in particular (go over the UNC boards now and you'll see what delusion is), had us losing in an upset.

From the get-go, we were in complete control of that game. We ended up winning 31-6 behind a dominant defensive performance, and a good enough offensive turnout. I think UNC has a great talent in Sam Howell, and they exceeded the expectations everyone had for them Week 1. Nevertheless, there are a few caveats.
  1. UNC was able to come back down 15 against a really bad Will Muschamp corch'd South Carolina team. This wasn't a dominant performance by UNC, they were getting pounded most of the game. Had SC been able to catch a pass or two, this game would've been a blowout. This will ultimately be a 6-6/7-5 SC team. Impressive upset for sure, but lets not get ahead of ourself.

  2. Miami isn't giving up 238 yards of rushing like SC did. UNC's running game was the main reason they won that game last Saturday. SC's defense was swiss cheese, and the solid run game put Howell into far better down-to-down situations. Miami held a far better UF RB stable to 50 yards rushing in Week 0.

  3. Sam Howell, while very talented, is still a young one read QB. If you watch the film from last Saturday, time and time again, Howell doesn't go through his progressions. The second his first read isn't there he starts to panic and dance around. We've got far more talented DB's and Safeties than SC. Our front-seven is faster and more physical than SC. I expect us to put Howell on the ground consistently in this game.

  4. I'm interested to see how UNC OC Phil Longo does in this game. Going back to his time at Ole Miss, his offenses are known for putting up lots of points against bad defenses, but getting nowhere against good ones. Longo won't have the luxury of being conservative, and he'll have to put a lot of faith in his freshman QB.

  5. Miami's run game can excel. Jarren Williams needs to play well for Miami to win this game, but my bet is our offense is going to rely heavily on the run. UNC gave up 128 yards of rushing to SC. Deejay Dallas alone almost broke 100 yds or rushing against a good Florida Gators defense, and I expect him to have a big game. He's better than anything SC had on the field. Also, look for Cam'Ron Davis to have a great game as well. He had some great bursts against UF.
Granted, we've got some liabilities coming into this game. Most important, will our OL be up to the task and show major improvement from Week 0? I believe they will. For one Jarren won't hold onto the ball for a millennium, and while UNC's front-seven has some solid players, they're nothing close to what we faced in Week 0. There are also some special teams issues which can arise for sure.

We'll have to see what happens, but I see us winning comfortably. This is a UNC team that's better than advertised, but all that means is that instead of going 3-9 they may go 5-7/6-6.

Chance to show whether this is TNM or SOM (same old Miami). If Florida was an almost statement game us going in there and taking the air out of that stadium will be.

Things could go south and the Heels make this a game, but the odds of that is pretty low IMO.

Yeah. I watched us beat UNC last year 47-10. They went 2-9 last year. Maybe they should be the ones expecting to lose?
Well, if they are the same 2-9 team as last year, then they are half way there.

I agree with your last sentence.

saw nothing in that video that scared me. All of their big plays on offense were USC poor tackling or 50/50 balls. Dont see them scoring more than 17 on our defense. 38-17 UM
