Are we honestly going to act like there wasn’t cheating going on here under Butch? That we didn’t pay recruits or do shady things? That there was a complete pause of illicit activity from the time of the Pell Grant Scandal to the time of Shapiro?

C’mon now.

It obviously wasn’t close to the scale of what Saban does at LSU or Bama, but acting like Butch did everything on the up and up is silly.

Man STFU....There was absolutely NO cheating going on at UM from 95-2000....NONE.....ask @Brooklyndee who played for Butch, how ridiculous your statement is....The NCAA literally was praying UM would act up those yrs....and the BOT was watching Butch like a Hawk....Once again your trouble making *** is spouting off on more stupidity....Butch was cheating so much....he had to get Santana on the team as a walk on, with a Track schollie....and he barely had enough players to field a practice in 96 & 97....

You have no clue what you're speaking on. I'm curious while we're at it what 3 star monsters we're getting paid to come here? Who did butch recruit that we had to pay cause he had 5 stars attached to him and everyone wanted?
 
I agree with Brooklyn and SWFL. We didn't pay players to come here. We stacked our talent in good evals and Butch's blueprint. Our dumbass violations occurred after they were here. And they ultimately hurt our recruiting. Small *** envelopes and benihana from a couple loudmouths in Luke and Shapiro.

We can't have nice things bc we don't operate on the same level. Those rednecks up north got their **** together. You're not gonna see them on a 30 for 30 smirking and being a dead giveaway for inconsequential payments like Luke. We can't keep our mouths shut even when it pales in comparison to the SEC. We make easy targets

Point is I don't believe for one second our transgressions of small payments isn't found across the board. In college I was a banquet captain at Ruth's in Knoxville when Ohio St came to town for basketball with Conley and Oden. Bill for staff, players, and people I don't even know. Maybe family. Was like 8k. Thad Motta snapped his fingers and some little dork grabs a duffle bag and we go in the bag. Had to be over 100k in that bag. Why does he have 100k in cash in a bag? But they keep their mouths shut

We can't operate like that bc we yap and we have the Miami Herald always with a columnist trying to come up. Meanwhile they keep the Tuscaloosa Times or the Knoxville Sentinel and and every other small time southern news outlet with a ball gag in their mouth. Anything we have done has always come out. We don't keep skeletons in the closet. If we did it, we'd all know it

Man this thread has me feeling hype for next year. I learned that without Butch Davis Nick Saban would not be ****. And since he is best friends with Mario we are on the way to winning chips agajn. This **** is simple math y’all, the problem is all you Saban slupers are just too stupid to get it.
