*Taint looks like a Machine. They are a problem

Haven’t played anyone yet however is doing what they should be doing vs their sch.

Day was handed to the keys to a fully built race car and told to go fast. We won’t know really what he is until he has to build and maintain that car himself.

But this looks like their best team in a while.

I’m still not 100% in on the Justin Fields hype train. I gotta see what he does when there is some adversity.

They may not face adversity until the playoffs or B1G championship game

It’s very likely. He’s playing great but i think Tate Martell would have looked great with all those athletes around him. If Day called more QBs for him. You can see that QB runs aren’t really a staple in his system.

I was a huuuuuge Justin Fields hater - didn’t see the hype at all, didn’t think he could throw the ball accurately, and said he was overrated as ****...I can’t even lie, but boy was I wrong. That guy is the truth; I’ve seen enough to become a believer. He’s special, dynamic with his arm and legs, looks coachable, has the right temperament (never too high or too low) and has the “it” factor. The scary thing is he’s no we’re close to his ceiling.

This *Taint team looks special, but he’s what’s putting them over the top, IMO.

They are one of the top 2 teams in the country. That said, they have their challenges ahead. MSU has been a yhron in their side in the past, though it should be a blowout. They are more talented than Wisky or Pedo State, but could drop either.

Many of their historically most talented teams have dropped inexcplicable games to much weaker opponents. See 1995, 1996, 1998, 2017, 2018.

Strength of schedule is an obsession of idiots. It is a minor variable. Somehow the simpleton college football fan brainstormed within the past decade to make it a paramount focus. That's how you get all these teams with inept pass defense into the playoffs. The committee has no clue what they are looking at in terms of criteria that actually influence results, so they reward moronic strength of schedule while ignoring pass defense and other decisive categories.

A magnificent litmus test in college football is how frequently the fan or analyst references strength of schedule.

****, I sure wish you had lectured Jeremy Foley on this subject as he organized schedules that made local high school teams embarrassed.

It's been approximately 375 years since the vaunted Gators played an out of state, out of conference regular-season game.

Apparently, good ole Jeremy was pointing pollsters to the Gators pass defense and other categories such as how many convicted and aspiring felons played for the Gators.

In 2000, Florida State was pushed ahead of Miami in the polls at seasons end after the Canes beat the Seminoles in the regular season, thus shutting the Canes out of the BCS National Championship game. No doubt that FSU had better defensive backs which propelled them over the Canes and into the championship game.

I’ve seen it all. TAINT has been anointed on a CANE board.

Canes haven’t played good football for 15 years, and have been mediocre during that time. Since we’ve last been relevant, the Gators have won 2 titles, FSU won a title and made a playoff, Taint won a title - made it to a couple playoffs, ND made it to the title game once and made the playoffs once.

We’re bumping up against nearly 2 decades of mediocrity. What are we supposed to do, remain in a bubble and pretend football no longer exist??? I’m a football fan; nothing wrong with calling out a really good team out when you see one. Rival or not

The elites of college football are playing a different brand of football.

Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia all have Blue Chip Ratios over or right around 80%, thats insane. Clemson and Oklahoma have 60% but have the best coaching and development in the country.

The difference between say...Alabama or Ohio State to Miami is the equivalent of Miami to like Oregon State. The talent disparity between teams even inside the Blue Chip Threshold is growing by the season.

1. Our head coaching has been bad. And 2. We must recruit better and develop the Oline. I think THOSE are the biggest difference. We need to recruit the **** out of the Midwest and southern states searching for olineman.

Astonishingly athletic team. Ideal frames at every position. Explosive and aggressive.

Kudos to Lance for pointing out last spring that Ohio State led the nation in SPARQ averaging. That is glaring while watching this team. Wave after wave.

I keep thinking that if the administrators here were hyping players from that team during the offseason instead of Canes players, then they would be correct.

Just pick anybody. Huge favoritism.

I'm sure Ohio State has some weaknesses that can be exploited by the proper opponent. They also tend to play one inexplicably poor game per season on the road. But that catastrophic decision to start JT Barrett for three seasons really skewed the national perspective toward who occupies the ultra elite top tier of college football. Watson, Tua and Lawrence were boosting Clemson and Alabama somewhat above their baseline, while Barrett was sinking Ohio State markedly below its true level.
They certainly have their type of athlete they recruit for sure, a lot of guys who are not only excellent football players but elite athletes on Nike sparq ratings as well

Miami’s at 51-52% blue chip rating. We do need to recruit better but that comes with being more successful on the field

And how much of our supposedly great 2001 OL was southern or Midwest?

Clemson was around 50% for Dabo’s first - if I’m not mistaken. They have developed quite a few low key 2-3 stars. If I’m not mistaken, they have a 1-2 star playing in their secondary playing well - who Swinney loves. Swinney talks about all the players that were just JAGS to other programs on the trail - who are delivering for them.

Our problem is coaching. Not winning the COASTAL **** near every year and competing for the ACC Ship has nothing to do with our talent. Coaches do more with less all over the country.
