Swasey

Fair point.

Easiest answer to this question is to find out who trained Chickilo for the combine.

If it was Swasey, it means the dude is legit at his job. If Chickilo went someplace else, that might imply there are some issues with Swasey.

Anybody know who trained Chick for the combine?

I would imagine he went elsewhere. Over all, most guys pay to train at a private facility because they get more individual and more complete care. Most private facilities offer meals, massage, multiple time a day training, different recovery protocols that maybe aren't feasible at less fortunate schools etc. When you train on campus, you have to understand that the strength coaches have to make their teams the priority and their time and resources are finite.

I thought I made it abundantly clear that i'm not exactly team Swasey over here because his background is lacking in formal education and what not but that just wouldn't be a great measuring stick, in my opinion.

OP eats dycks..... LOL at people come to train with swasey because its close to south beach...LMAO

There's a Curves in Kendall that'll swoop up Swasey in a hot minute if we ever part ways with him.

Wyche is the biggest player on the team and I CONSTANTLY see him getting pushed back many yards. No savages on this team....at all.

Man I swear if Swasey survive another coaching change I still may boycott! Dude needs to roll, and I don't care who is **** off.

I've always maintained that Tommy Moffit was the key figure behind our S&C resurgence in the late 90's. I believe Moffit is a disciple of the "Hatch System"of training. I'm certainly no expert in these matters but to my untrained eye the Hatch system was incredibly effective and IMO what we have been missing for well over a decade.

I also find it very odd that we have not made any attempt to bring that system back. I agree with the OP. Our strength numbers may have improved in the weight room but it is not translating to the field. Golden's counter intuitive read and react scheme has much to do this but remember, we were having this same discussion during the Coker and Shannon regimes. Swassey needs to go too.

Moffitt, a great coach, was only at UM 1998-99. Not here when we were at our most recent best from 2000-02.

With what is asked of our DL, Vince Wilfork would be getting pushed back. D-linemen will be benched if they make a tackle for loss.

Just a idea but isn't it possible that he had 2 years to lay the strength groundwork for most of the players from 2000-2002?

Every time the Swasey subject comes up I ask the same question of the Swasey suckers. Name me an offensive or defensive lineman that has came back to train with this bum. He trains NFL skill players. He does a good job with speed and agility training, nothing else. Hopefully the next coach finally fires this clown.

He has always been a speed training coach imo. He's still good but the head coaches wanted us to turn into Penn State

You do realize that we have 5 S&C coaches? One that works strictly with interior linemen

i am not convinced that former players come back to workout with Swasey (I have no idea if he's good or not). I think they return to UM because they want to return to Miami for obvious reasons (sun, warm weather, party) and to Florida (for tax reasons). since they work out year round now, why not work out in miami? better than just about anywere else. not sure it is connected with swasey
