its all coaching and there lack of confidence to play aggressive and to put the talent on the field its all patty cake

Bottom line is we need a new coaching staff. We may have minimum talent on defense but it's still more talent than anybody in the coastal. Goldens recruiting may not be all that. The cloud is over and our potential 15 class is so average. 16 looks to be beastworthy but that's a long time away. This is not Miami caliber football and anybody with half a brain knows this.

UM’s starting lineup included a linebacker whose only other offer was from Northern Colorado (Thurston Armbrister), a defensive tackle whose only other offer was from Temple (Olsen Pierre), another defensive tackle whose only other offers were from Houston, North Texas, Toledo and West Virginia (Kamalu), a cornerback whose only other offers out of high school were Indiana and North Texas (Ladarius Gunter) and a walk-on (Nantambu-Akil Fentress) who had no offers.

Talent remains an issue, yes. But what does it say about the players that can't beat these guys out?

Talent is an issue, but coaching seems to be a bigger issue.

If talent is an issue guess who is responsible for securing said talent.

The 2015 class is looking worse than the cloud classes, so how do people explain that?

This article screams out to me as talk points fed to the media by Golden. All execution issues and lack of talent, give me a break, they even compared our taken to other schools, we continue to lose to schools we are out recruiting! You can't have it both ways Al, either admit you can't bring in top personnel (Head Coach's job), the top personnel isn't performing (Head Coach's job), or the players are talented and well coached in a bad system (Head Coach's job) No more passing the buck! Al Golden need's to go!

The reality is probably somewhere in the middle, there's jot top 5 defense talent on the team, but we should be bettrr than what we are showing.

The logic is mind bending: If the players the corches recruited played better, then we would win more. Until we win more, we can't successfully recruit better players.

Looks like UM leaned on Jackson, and this article was clearly "spin" to make the coaches look better and the talent look like the problem. Yes, Jackson still points out that coaches suck, but the spin in this article is sickening. Lack of talent? Subpar recruiting classes? GTFO, BJ. Most of our defense had offers from Florida, LSU, Bama, FSU, etc. If the coaches start Fentress, that's not "lack of talent," that's them playing the ****** walk on, Raising Canes player, so they have another built in excuse.

While the NCAA investigation into the program concluded last year, the Hurricanes are still trying to get out from under its cloud. That is a valid point to be made in defense of Golden, though fans and alums are tired of hearing excuses. - Andrea Adelson

I'm sick and tired of the phuckin cloud

Perryman is undersized? Isn't he like 250 pounds?

exactly, so the f what he is undersized, what does that have to do with anything, hes a playmaker and a beast, and you point out hes an inch shorter then youd prefer? what!? zach thomas was undersized too, nobody looks back on his career and says "yea he was an animal for miamis defense for 10 years but you know he was undersized so none of that counts"

Howard 5-star
Grace 4-star
Artie 4-star
Bush 4-star
Kirby 4-star
Mccord 4-star
Chickillo 4-star

All those contribute on defense but yea lack of talent

theyre gonna make DP drop weight once he gets to the pros.

I'd love to know the analysis behind why Chris Nee says we need to get bigger at LB. Is there an actual football reason for why college LBs who are asked to play in space more than ever need to be bigger than what our guys are now?
Just taking a **** out his mouth as usual. We need to get back to faster than you Miami. We'll find zillion a players to fit what we do. Packing pounds on 6' LBs is not a good strategy. Evidence....look at our team. A guy like Grace shouldn't be more than 230 when he leaves Miami. No D will sure try to have him at 260. Sluggish and slow
He won't get to 230lbs.

He's listed at 212lbs and makes plays whenever they unleash him. They're desperate to get him to some pre-determined weight so he checks a box rather than just accepting what his strengths are and what his frame can carry.

That's just bad coaching.

Depends what scheme he goes to, but yeah any 4-3 team is going to ask him to drop 10lbs and get some of that speed back.

IMO he was a much better player when he was lighter. Covered more ground, still hit hard.

The weird thing is that they coach in the ACC and watched Telvin Smith do all sorts of damage at a wiry 215 pounds (as a f'in SENIOR).
