Sun Sentinnel " Civil War within Hecht"

and this board thinks the BOT is the problem

Have they not been overseeing this ****show or at least sitting idly by for the past 20+ years? They are part of the problem. Kudos to them for finally waking up. And I don't buy that the fan outrage isn't moving the needle to some degree. That's subterfuge to dissuade people from talking.

Follow the money. Money talks and Bull**** walks. Once the BOT finds their way through the clouds of BS being thrown their way, one or both of the impediments to having a successful Football program may be gone. Leaving things as they are is only wasting their money and I hope they are smart enough to realize this.

The fan outrage is something that will absolutely resonate when that season ticket renewal date passes.

I certainly do.

The fact that there is a "civil war" going on within the BOT tells me that roughly half of the BOT are the problem. When I see guys like Marcus Lemonis (sp?) tweeting after an embarrassing loss saying that "education is more important than winning," that tells me he is part of the problem. He is perpetuating the same false narrative about big time college athletics that donna and her ilk have perpetuated around Coral Gables since her arrival.

This is what happens when you make rich people have to do stuff & pay attention to sh*t that they'd rather not.

You start bothering them enough & they start asking for justifications about why people have their jobs, when they don't get the answers they like, heads start rolling.

Basically, you better do your job & be good at it, because if you make the money men work, they'll fire you, because they pay you so they don't have to work. Blake with his blatant incompetence over these years has always had an out to keep them from paying attention to him, he could always smooth things over & they would just sit back & let him get away easy... Now, he's got nowhere to hide. The donations aren't rolling in like they normally do & the product isn't matching the bull**** he tells them, so now they're starting to question his decisions, which means they're about to start finding answers.

Blake & Manny are on their way out if we don't win this season, which is exactly why the two of them have been playing Hot potato with this Highsmith hire, both Blake & Manny are trying to pawn it off on one another as the reason why the other one doesn't want him hired, when neither one wants him here because they know as soon as Highsmith gets hired they're both on the clock to get shít canned.

Synopsis:

There is a "civil war" going on with the football program.

The BOTs and Football donors vs Blake James and Manny Diaz.

According to Hyde, Friday night, the BOTs were "slamming their hands on tables" demanding change within the football program. They are tired of the past seven years of Blake's leadership and Miami football program always falling short. The three losses to FIU, Duke, and LaTech forced their hand in wanting a change.

The BOTs want Highsmith hired in a Director of Football Ops.

BOTs and donors should far outweight the opinions of the AD and HC. If they're so tired of Blake, fire him.

And this board wonders why some MODS are Manny apologist. As this article points, Manny has got to step up....to date, he has not.

I know myself and every 'Cane fan wants him to succeed...but results speak to the contrary.

As long as they're actually raising **** and not just acting chesty off the record with Hyde and Jackson.

You sir are correct! The BOT has always moved at a snail's pace, part of that was because Shalala, for any of her faults regarding the athletic department, was a fundraising machine therefore it was quite difficult to take on any of her people; the cash was pouring in and the rankings academically were surging. Now, the fundraising is slowing, and the academic rankings are falling, so the trustees have to act much quicker on a number of issues and the remaining elements of her people across the university are not quite so untouchable. My take on the Highsmith situation is that is more of a prop up to the athletic department then it is meant to be a change agent and this "power sharing" structure that was discussed confirms it.

No doubt Lashlee will help because our offense was downright pathetic. But he alone won’t save our program. It will take so much more because our issues are much more than just an inept offense.

Our offense will be much better next season, but that will only mask the deeper issues until they are addressed. It’s weak leadership all the way around.

Program dysfunctional? That’s all on Blake. Locker room dysfunctional? That’s all on Manny.

Until those two are replaced with proven, competent leaders we will be a middling program.

Manny talked mad smack about knowing the issues and contending for playoff spot. They see the mess, the sideline circles, losing recruits and on top of that he’s costing the university a ton of money. He makes more than. Mario and they paid his buyout. Now they gotta pay enos too. Mario had more support on BOT than you think. He wasn’t butch

Marcus Lemonis is also a big Mario fan (both went to Columbus). Publicly Marcus knows it isn't professional for a booster to call out the athletic department, but that doesn't mean he isn't doing it behind closed doors.

I would be surprised if there wasn't a "civil war" going on. The hiring of Diaz was so mismanaged and haphazard, it's shocking it happened at this level of college football. No national coaching search, not even the pretext of one. It has already cost the University 4 million plus whatever Enos buyout was.

On top of that, what was promised to be a successful team in the following year after significant investment into a high priced OC turned into an absolute flop and a "rebuilding year."

Now they are in danger of having to shell out millions more to get rid of Diaz in year 2, and then go after what would almost certainly be a coach with another expensive buyout.

Financial mismanagement at this level gets noticed by people who are by and large successful businessman and didn't get there by being chumps.
