Why does Flake even have a job?

I dont understand it. Does he have some sort of supreme court style lifetime appointment that we are unaware of? If he wont do what the BOTs wants, why dont they just fire him?

This is what happens when you make rich people have to do stuff & pay attention to sh*t that they'd rather not.

You start bothering them enough & they start asking for justifications about why people have their jobs, when they don't get the answers they like, heads start rolling.

Basically, you better do your job & be good at it, because if you make the money men work, they'll fire you, because they pay you so they don't have to work. Blake with his blatant incompetence over these years has always had an out to keep them from paying attention to him, he could always smooth things over & they would just sit back & let him get away easy... Now, he's got nowhere to hide. The donations aren't rolling in like they normally do & the product isn't matching the bull**** he tells them, so now they're starting to question his decisions, which means they're about to start finding answers.

Blake & Manny are on their way out if we don't win this season, which is exactly why the two of them have been playing Hot potato with this Highsmith hire, both Blake & Manny are trying to pawn it off on one another as the reason why the other one doesn't want him hired, when neither one wants him here because they know as soon as Highsmith gets hired they're both on the clock to get shít canned.

Blake and Manny can't get fired soon enough. I'm almost rooting for another season like we just had so we don't give those two idiots an extension.

FWIW, there are people on other boards who have been saying for the past couple of weeks there is plenty of $$ for any buy outs, salaries, etc. It's been put on the table to BJ ..... He has completely and definitely tied himself to Manny.

The fact that there is a "civil war" going on within the BOT tells me that roughly half of the BOT are the problem. When I see guys like Marcus Lemonis (sp?) tweeting after an embarrassing loss saying that "education is more important than winning," that tells me he is part of the problem. He is perpetuating the same false narrative about big time college athletics that donna and her ilk have perpetuated around Coral Gables since her arrival.

The BOT is absolutely a problem. Manny and Blake could be fired tomorrow and I would have no confidence in this BOT to replace them with anyone better. You have some who are still pushing this Harvard of the South nonsense, some who flat out don’t care, and some who still can’t move past hiring a former player from the glory days. It’s a bad combination of arrogance, indifference, and incompetence.

The BOT is just too big and bulky. At UM and at many universities.

We need to carve out a subcommittee to oversee athletics, and then let those 6 or 8 or 10 people take care of business without having 100 voices chiming in.
