From a recruiting perspective...we likely needed four wide receivers, would have settled with three, we ended up with a guy that would have come here regardless and a dented can.
We've since had to discuss moving DB recruits (Restrepo and Clarke) to WR.
As for coaching...Ive made a lot of posts on the wide receivers...but in summary...they all stink. We can try and flesh through the merits of each if you like, but none of these WRs did a thing that anyone else could have done by proxy of being on the field. I've made a lot of posts on marketshare and what it means for WRs...but our WRs this year were garbage and it had little to do with QB or the system. Everyone was insanely inconsistent.
I was a fan of KJ Osborn...he was our best WR the moment he stepped on campus and finished the year as our best WR...a WR2 from SUNY-Buffalo...was our WR1 the moment he stepped on campus...and he had a steep decline in share of the market here. Jeff Thomas was the same ol Jeff Thomas we've seen...a quitter, in his feelings, and incredibly inconsistent on the field and made one play for every five he had the opportunity to. Mike Harley was better than Jeff Thomas (I made posts on this very early in the year). I don't think he "improved" to the degree some think he did. Wiggins, Pope, etc. did nada of merit.
He's doo doo, brother.
