Exactly lol

I ran it by Cribby before the bowl and he hadn’t heard anything so I let it go but there was smoke that Feld was going to quit. Rumored for just personal/family reasons but apparently he hit a rough patch and went MIA and burned some relationships with his staff

These lateral moves seem to confirm it
Very uncommon for PED-abusing goof balls to have personal problems and rough patches

I have often said to friends his wife seems miserable down here 🤣 his social media shares of her over the seasons seems to indicate Miami isn’t for her.

Lot of studies show gym is very good for countering depression, but then if people get obsessed with their physique and take PEDs they just exchange one set of problems for another.
Yeah all jokes aside I see the good and bad up close every single day

It’s like anything else. Addiction can be a negative and a lot of these people I know are just trading one for another like you said

**** no judgements even I probably have been that guy before

Have def been that guy before…traded in my alcohol abuse for the gym ... definitely takes a toll on family no matter what. The key for me was finding the root cause of my addictive personality and behavior. One addiction I will absolutely never give up is my love for my Canes. Wife already understands that’s a non-negotiable lol.

Addictions ain't equally problematic at least. Being addicted to the gym is objectively far better than being addicted to alcohol. Probably 1/3rd the country is addicted to coffee or some manner of caffeine, nobody gives a ****.

I hear ya. Appreciate the transparency. I spend a lot of time on social talking about this stuff every day

We do a lot of a science based content but also there’s a big element of personal experience

Even somewhat grown up as I am now the insecurity aspects creep up no matter what when you’re surrounded in certain industries even if it’s not for the best for your health

Our team speed is poor and there are still multiple players who look like twigs after years in the program. I'm trying my best to find the strong and fast players littered throughout the roster.
Is this you're being funny? Attempting to be? Feel free to go back to the regime just before Mario or even to CMR when we started using catapults and find how many people were 20+ mph... I'll save you the effort. Not same hemisphere. This twigs **** after multiple years. Care to point out who? Thanks for the contribution.

He's probably referring to Markeith Williams, which is likely just genetics

What’s with all the movement in the strength and conditioning staff over the last couple weeks? What did I miss?

This is going to come off as a rant because It's 1:30 am and I just finish watching "The U" 30 for 30 for the 30,000th time so my thoughts are kind of sporadic. For that I apologize in advance.
I am just wondering what it is going to take for us to get back to the mountain top and stay there in the modern era.

Similar to how Rellyrell is passionate about athletic apparel, sneakers, branding and risk management, I am very passionate about Strength and Conditioning and Athletic Performance.

I love Miami, always have-always will, but we have not been ELITE in the S&C department since the Tommy Moffit days in the late 90's/early 2000s. Like our facilities and willingness to pay top dollar for coaches, our S&C department fell below standard. We (Shalala) got lazy and gave the football program the bare minimum when it came to actually investing $$$ in the program. REAL $$$. We had to have a former baseball player Tim Bellamy had to basically beg to become the Football program's nutritionist because get this: WE DIDN'T HAVE ONE!! Guys would grab a Muscle Milk on the way out the weight room and hope for the best I guess.

We became stagnant with Swasey, who some will argue was not as qualified as we had originally believed. He is at Colorado now, so I will be watching them closely this year. Guys like Mickey Marotti have 4 rings from 2 teams because they are ever learning. This field has evolved over the years and it can get very complex with new trends and the latest studies. I believe a guy like Aron Feld is very qualified and knows what he's doing, but I am going to be honest here.... The elite have their top guys on "special protein" and their "A" in BCAA's stands for Anabolic.
Most of the schools have no direct contact with the entities that have the SARMS, HGH, EPO, Peptides, IGF-1, etc..... you know for plausible deniability I suppose, but there are systems in place for sure. Similar to the "bag" network each (SEC) school unofficially had before NIL. I have a friend who was a former IFBB bodybuilding pro who is now a LPN and Personal Trainer who "helps" Georgia players along with a friend of his who is a doctor (who runs a TRT clinic). Remember a few years back when those Alabama players got caught for using deer antler spray? That was child's play compared to what really goes on. Especially today. So until we somehow, somewhat enter into these waters we automatically give up an advantage to these teams on our quest for a National Title.

Just to take a quick peak at what elite S&C programs consist of LEGALLY

1. We have Alabama and David Ballou showing off their new weight room that has Elite Form (tm) force generation/power output data display (from 10 years ago) to the newer hinge machines like the Back Attack which increases the posterior chain load as the movement is performed. There is also a standing chest press that emphasizes training how you play football (On one or two feet). Mind you Saban hired Ballou as the Director of Athletic Performance and Dr. Matt Rhea as the Director of Sports Science.

2. In the LSU facility tour look at how they have collagen, pre workout, tart cherry juice and creatine in a assembly line fashion for players to consume. Also notice the quick digesting calories that contain carbohydrates and proteins at the post workout section of the video. Highly regulated, Highly intentional. I WILL say that I believe we will have this and more once our football operations facility is complete.

I know this post was kind of all over the place but would like to know y'all thoughts, especially if there are any strength coaches or athletic trainers in here.

Go Canes!

Go Canes!

People have no idea what players are injecting into their body on almost a daily basis, even players have no idea what it is. Don't know the name, but there was a Wisconsin LB finding out years later what he took because the medical staff there wasn't telling him. Rob Gronkowski was taking horse medicine during the 2018 season, because the hardest painkillers available for humans weren't helping with his back anymore.

As for the doping stuff, I have it on good authority that professional athletes do doping on the regular and have been for decades upon decades. The middle to late 90s were the epitomy of doping basically running wild in the professional business and as organizations started to track it down, dopers found ways to hide their doping with microdosages. The largest doping scandal in European sports history called "Operation Puerta" was shut down after the leader named Fuentes basically bragged about how most spanish elite athletes were his customers. During the Covid pandemic, Bayern Munich players blew up like balloons in terms of muscle during the phase where practice and playing were suspended. It looked unnormal and it probably was. Distance run in soccer has completely exploded, if you run below 10 km in 90 minutes, it's subpar standard for the good to elite level. It used to be really good ten years ago.

But because of that, sports science as a whole has made gigantic leaps in training and recovery and rehab in the same timeframe. An ACL tear used to be considered a career altering, sometimes ending injury, nowadays it's a 6-8 month break with players returning with equal strength levels, if not better. We know so much more about physical training compared to ten years ago because professional sports took off in value and it's participants are the main show. So it doesn't surprised me that the SEC has it down pat, because everyone who knows a thing about lifting weight and training professionally knows this doesn't matter if you don't know what's going on within your body.

The next step that's happening is training techniques. We know now that loading the muscle under a deep stretch is the area where the muscle benefits the most from muscle growth. We can say with a fair certanty that Zone 1, 2 and 5 training are most efficient for athletic performance, in particular Zone 2. Researchers have started to figure out why some players are faster than others and that it indeed can be trained to be explosive.

I don't know how far back we are compared to Bama and LSU. It's been said that Feld will step away for private reasons, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is Miamis response by hiring multiple people to handle the workload he is leaving. Maybe @JayCane20 can share more.
