stop this guy and it's a wrap for notre dame

He’s also a threat catching the ball. I watched notre dame games over the past weekend. Their interior line can create some push. They have a very diverse offensive run scheme and they design plays to get Love to the edge. Guidry would get killed if he was still the coordinator.

If Miami does as expected and stacks the box, how do you guys feel about Miami's secondary vs. the ND passing game?

Completely flipped the room, new coaches and new scheme.

On paper you guys should be locked down way more than we were ever capable of last year.

Greetings Canes fans. Irish fan here. I have been reading your boards the past couple of weeks and have enjoyed getting to know your thoughts on your team. I think and hope that the week one game is a good one. The last time the Irish were down there, the wheels fell off. This is a completely different team and staff, but that place was a hornet's nest. I am probably most concerned about your running game, to be honest. Like always I think it will come down to who can run the ball better and limit turnovers. I think these are two of the four best offensive lines in football, with another coming to South Bend in week 3. I think ND has the edge on defense, and Miami has the edge at QB. Should be a fun one!

Sam storyline we heard in 2017 with that RB that was supposed to rip Miami to shreds.

2018* and he was hurt but I do agree. We have plenty to limit their running game enough to win the game if Heatherman knows what he’s doing. We’re not lining up with FIU’s front against these dudes. We have good enough cover guys to line up in man and key on Love, if their WRs cook us to where Carr has plenty of time to throw and shreds, so be it. But they’re not just going to line up and blow us off the ball play after play and this dude is getting 5 yards every play before he gets contacted. Fill, wrap, and get him on the ground with numbers.

Would be REALLY cool to jump up 7-0 or 10-0, get that crowd absolutely frothing and make Carr win the game. With every passing day I’m getting (admittedly possibly irrationally) more excited about the defense. A good coordinator has more than enough pieces here to beat a first time QB playing on the road. And if the kid is the 2nd coming of Joe Montana, I’ll tip my cap. Just put him behind the sticks and see what happens.

One guy like this can beat you even if you stack the box. If he’s him there really isn’t anything we can do. We will find out if he’s that guy game one.

If you’re correcting him on the year of the ND matchup I will have to correct you and say it was in fact 2017. I remember because it was the first year I ever saw Miami beat FSU.

They overhauled the secondary so it’s hard to predict that. Basically TBD on the entire d group. I’d like to think the DL will be Miami’s best group but who knows. Cheers.

Huh? Miami vs ND was 2017. Not 2018. And Josh Adams was not hurt. He had headaches.

This kid run around you, run over you or jump over you. He was 215, but looks lighter so he is probably ready to lite this year up. He will put his helmet crown in your sternum and just explode into the defender, keeping his feet moving. He will run around you with 4.4 speed, don't let him turn the corner. You better keep your head up when tackling him, the camera doesn't lie, he likes leaping over defenders. Right now, I have him as the top RB entering the 26 draft. He's nice. Load the box while playing man come Aug. 31st.
