stop this guy and it's a wrap for notre dame

What? CJ Carr isn’t a runner. If he’s the starter, the offense will be completely different than it looked with Riley, and Love will be the centerpiece. They’ll use 3 backs because all are good but Love is their best player and will be treated as such. This is a pretty silly post.
Then their offense isn’t going to look anything at all like it looked last year. With the quarterback not getting the majority of the team’s carries, they’re going to have to rely on Love to run the ball more than 10 times a game. He had one game with more than 15 carries last year.

Greetings Canes fans. Irish fan here. I have been reading your boards the past couple of weeks and have enjoyed getting to know your thoughts on your team. I think and hope that the week one game is a good one. The last time the Irish were down there, the wheels fell off. This is a completely different team and staff, but that place was a hornet's nest. I am probably most concerned about your running game, to be honest. Like always I think it will come down to who can run the ball better and limit turnovers. I think these are two of the four best offensive lines in football, with another coming to South Bend in week 3. I think ND has the edge on defense, and Miami has the edge at QB. Should be a fun one!

And got hurt... so will they up his usage or continue the commitee approach?

I'm betting hes still seeing 15 carries a game or he will be on the sidelines again by November. I also expect their offensive efficiency to dip since without a bruising QB they won't have that extra blocker in short yardage situations and that young signal caller will also likely turn it over more due to their inexperience.

Welcome to the jungle and **** you very much for the kind comments. Sorry, standard greetings to rivals. 🤷🏿‍♂️
I agree, it will be a good game IMO. Thank you for your insight. Who do you think will be your starting QB?

Thank you for posting. You may be our best chance to unite the board for the first time since Catholics vs Convicts. The only thing we hate more than each other is Notre Dame. ... As to you comment, worry about the 12th man.

15 carries a game would be a huge workload jump for him. He only got 10 per game last year and had a season high of 16 once.

If Carr is a more traditional drop back quarterback, this will drastically change the style of offense they play. Going from a spread option offense to a traditional spread isn’t something you just transition to on a game to game basis. Everything they did last year in the run game was predicated off the quarterback run. If you’re eliminating that aspect of the offense, you’re going to fill that void with more oassing attempts.

I hope you aren’t from Chicago

A good game to me is a total beat down on the Catholics. Total destruction with game in hand in the first quarter.
I, for one, do not want to see a close game. I want to see total domination from the first snap to the last.

We were #19 in rushing defense last year.

Granted, that comes with factors such as many of our games were shootouts and teams could pass at will against us, but, they didn’t generally run at will against us.
Yeah, that’s tantamount to having the best 3rd down conversion rate on offense and only field goal attempts in the red zone.

Haha, thank you for the customary greeting. I am actually from Michigan. I have all the respect in the world for the Canes. For multiple reasons. First, I believe they revolutionized college football. Before Jimmy Johnson it was big slow d linemen and big, bulky linebackers. Also, he brought balanced offense to an era of option and run heavy schemes.

As far as this year goes, I think Carson Beck is vastly underrated. Georgia had not much of a running game last year and they led the nation in drops. There is a reason he was getting some preseason #1 draft pick projections.

The ND QB will be CJ. Barring something crazy happening. Kenny can throw and move. I would be comfortable with him also, but CJ has a better handle on the O, is incredibly accurate, and has a stronger arm.

My biggest concern is the Canes start hot and CJ struggles early. It could get ugly quickly. Hard Rock is going to be rocking with all you passionate fans filled with a days worth of liquid encouragement.

I am happy to see this being a battle of top 10 teams. College football is better when the Canes and the Irish are competing for titles.

This guy is a bigger Cane fan than most of this board. Insane.
