Stop Believing Certain Local "Personalities" Are Real Fans

All I know about this Billy Corben guy is that he took his alma-mater to task over the airwaves because Shalala (whom I'm
not a fan of) did not support his project and therefore did not allow UM employees to participate in that 30-30
garbage where alot of it involved the glorification of breaking rules, if not the law.
Given this school's history with the NCAA, someone associated with the school, who supposedly loves their school,
would understand why this is such a sensitive subject.
Instead, this ******* went ape-sht because the school did not want to endorse his business.
All I needed to know about this guy.
He is filth.

So some of you consider Cohen a journalist, media member or essentially a reporter? I guess that's where I differ and take offense. I consider him a self-employed filmmaker that attaches himself like a leech to this program when it benefits him but will go out of his way to trash it when it can get him clicks, invites to talk shows or whenever he just wants to reveal that his ego is still bruised that the school doesn't appreciate him enough. That's why he got moist when he saw a chance to jump on an area (the stadium improvements) that had been allowed a whole game and a half to be celebrated by the general public and national media

As for the "facts" that he's "reporting". The panels in the roof aren't even fully installed so not only is his notion that last night was some sort of "test" flawed it's also totally dishonest. Also, wasn't this whole canopy system mostly being celebrated by the actual fanbase as a vehicle for shade and noise entrapment?

Believe me, I've been no apologist for that stadium or our administration but spare me the critiques of fraudulent fans like Feast and Cohen (and Luke to a different extent) that are all about their own self-interests first.......second, third and fourth.

Lastly, football is a freakin' outdoor sport. Some people need to seriously explore if their HMO will cover testosterone treatments.

Didn't he direct The U and The U Part 2? He has a lot of leeway if so.

Did he profit from them too? Was he sued by a former player over setting up the access to the players that allowed him to even make the first one? I agree that the first one is an excellent movie and probably has served as a recruiting tool but let's not act as a) the content wasn't already there and ripe for the taking and that b) Cohen made it as some form of altruism or charity.

Stop giving people blind passes. If that's the case then let's never admonish Feast because he once paid tuition to the school or Luke because he was once photographed in a Canes jacket or Sileo because he once played half a season here or something.

Dude- Corben has kept us relevant for 10 plus yrs while our sucky team has been completely irrelevant. Stop coming down on this dude for a stupid tweet about the stadium leaking. UM Football owes Billy big time!

SMH.

so why isnt the stadium ******* ready then? the fact that it isnt yet is sad. we're 2 weeks into the season, and a week in to the nfl season. when are they gunna complete it? if you dont think its a bad look, youre being foolish.

secondly, i dont get the hate you and others have with him. if you think he has had anywhere close to a net negative impact on this football program youre just plain wrong. his films help greatly in recruiting. if he wants to ***** about not feeling appreciated by the school, its probably because he isnt.

why does it matter. the fact is youre making excuses to dislike him. the fact is he did make the films. and the fact us it helps our football program. nothing else about the circumstances matter. you say hes not a real fan which is BS. he reps the U consistently. **** i know me and you havent had nearly the positive impact as he has on this football program. if he wants to critiqye the school for certain reasons i dont see a problem

What they reported was 100% accurate, do you want them to lie?

You fail to mention that said "reporting" was done without any respect for context as the canopy is not finished yet but despite that still managed to provide decent cover for many. Pay attention.

The stadium is ready.

Games have been played there.

It's not finished though. There are still many of those tft panels to be installed and other finishing touches, including the 200 club level to be completely redone - which won't happen until after the season.

Bunch of fokking crybabies. A lot more people would have been soaked last year without the cover. All that was promised was that it would be ready for football this year.

What a bunch of effeminate crybabies.

Fvck Shalala and her administration. I'm with Corben on this one.

Shalala cared only about her precious image.

I've said my piece so I'm done after this. I'm not looking for excuses to hate on anyone. I've acknowledged that his first movie was quality work and an asset to the program. I'm not in the business of giving lifetime passes to people though- especially those that never sacrificed anything for the school or program and profited personally and professionally greatly off of their association. We rightly criticize Warren Sapp around here so I'm sure as **** not going to bite my tongue about calling this midget a fraudulent fan.

Let me know when you ever see him "repping the U" at an actual game or when it isn't in front of cameras. Let me know the next time he throws needless shade at the program or school. Let me know when he stops being bitter that they haven't named the film program after him or erected a statue. Let me know when you hear anything that emanates from his mouth that proves he even knows anything about football period.

Aight, I'm done. Just be mindful that when we elevate frauds or weirdos then they become de facto representatives of this fanbase and the program in the media. Enjoy that when Cohen, Luke and Laz saunter onto the Gameday set or something.

I agree that the context was the issue. Did it rain? Yup, did a bunch of people get wet? Yup. Is it because all the panels haven't been installed yet? Yup. Let's not paint this as some massive failure by Stephen Ross and the contractors. My seats are in 102. I got drenched. Wasn't happy about it but I knew the overhang over my section wasn't finished. With both the Dolphins and Hurricanes not having a home game for almost two weeks, they'll be able to finish the job. The project was a massive undertaking that required a ridiculous amount of man hours just to have it use-able by opening week.
