STOOPS to FSU (Rumor)

Stoops moves the needle but is a Richt type hire IMO.... there's other coaches out there that would worry me more if they got them

Stoops would yield the same (if not worst) results at FSU that Richt did at Miami. Stoops took over an already established program at OU and got one national title out of it, but has a propensity for blowing big games. Look at what Lincoln Riley has done at OU in his 3 years there. Taking over FSU is not exactly taking over an established team.

similar to richt, not sure if stoops wants to rebuild from the ground up which is what FSU is right now

Not sure if FSU would do this, but apparently Odell went to the admin to express his interest in the job. He went to them 2 years ago when Jimbo left and told them he was NOT interested. Now apparently he's changed his mind.

That’s false that the boosters came up with $18mil for slicks buyout. They aren’t paying it all at once. ...

That doesn’t make it false.

Buyouts are generally paid out over time, not in one lump sum.

The boosters commitment to the buyout has been reputably reported. How they do it is irrelevant. Their commitment and their payment is what’s relevant. For all we know they’ve already set up an annuity.

He also probably won’t get the full 18 million. They’ll likely negotiate it down in order to pay it sooner. Kind of like the lottery. Or maybe they include some financial vehicle that will be a form of tax shelter if that’s even possible.

1. The language in the contract said that the buyout is paid monthly over the duration of the contract. He signed a 6 year deal. So he's owed $17M over the next 4 years, paid in monthly installments (roughly $355,000 a month for the next 4 years to scratch your balls. Not a bad deal)

2. They are certainly negotiating a reduction in the buyout. Doesn't mean Willie and his agent will take it. They owe him $17M legally.

3. I've been told they have some "dirt" on him that they're holding over his head in order to essentially blackmail him into taking a reduction in the buyout. I won't get into specifics, but they are absolutely trying to recoup some of their money. Normally, they can incentivize the fired coach by accelerating the payments. Instead of $17M over 4 years, say, we'll give you $10M now...something like that (I'm not saying this is the scenario, just a generic example). But they're 10000% trying to get out of paying him the full $17M over 4 years.

The reports are false. FSU’s AD said the reports were false that the money was raised.

So Haggins is getting a pass for being apart of the allegedly bad culture up there thats the reason why all those 4 an 5 stars look like **** ? Aint he the only common denominator from their past two staffs ?

The ones he's coaching don't.

Literally the only thing that program has going for it is Odell Haggins. The rest of the program needs to be shot into the sun immediately.

What has Lincoln Riley done?

Problem for him is that the HC job is a different beast from what he deals with as a position coach. I wouldn't trust the job with him if I were an FSU fan given that he's already thinking retirement. You need someone who's hungry for the job, not someone that's mulling over if they want to fish instead of working tomorrow.
