Still a Stupid & Small Team

#1 the bowl games mean nothing...and EVERY player that gives a ****, knows that.

Bowls used to, but now they just dont.

The emotional fans need some ******* medicine.

Those that actually know something about the game, can see that were making a change.

Does anyone actually believe that's what our D-line will look like next year?

Does anyone actually believe that's what our secondary will look like next year?

What about the o-line?

All signs (recruiting, redshirts, etc.), would lead one to believe we're heading in the right direction.

Calm down.
Would LOVe to believe this, but its not true. No football coach, at any level, ever, goes out on a field with 50-80 guys in pads, with a " whatever happens, happens" attitude. Never. Even the worst go out with a desire to win the game. Its the DNA. And if that IS what happens now in the " new bowl" season, than wouldnt Rutgers likewise feel the same ? THen how to explain the clear and obvious difference in DESIRE and willingness to hit?

We cameo out flat, and this 100% on the Staff. Anyone who has coached( and i have) knows that. Effort is contagious and if a kid is half assing it, you bench him. We didnt.

also fire the strength coach!!! These guys look skinny and soft!!! They got shoved around by a below average team!!!

Actually Rutgers is a prototypical BIG team. They are fizical team. Miami was without some of their best players. What are you all expecting when Miami plays guys like Gore, Litchenstein, Cristobal, Smith who are all G5 players.

It’s funny how upset ppl are. Do you all not realize this team lacked depth and it showed during the bowl.

Let me remind you who all wasn’t playing for Miami and think about how many teams could sustain that amount of production lose and look good on the field.

Not playing Starters:
QB
WR
C
RG
DT
DE
LB
S
S

Not playing backups:
DE
RB
LB

Injuries
Fletcher first drive
Richard

Miami was starting two Cb at Safety haha

Smith instead of Flagg or Cloyd. Smith sucks and is small.
Wes got bullied
DT got whipped
Wayne isn’t ready

Bain and kiko are the only ones who looked like they belong on the field on defense. Shows how much these last couple classes have to step up. I think the strength staff is fine.

Miami dominated a lot of teams this year when full strength. Ton of young guys got reps but they need another year/off season.

Portal will fill gaps.

This is a slight above average team. There is a ways to go to get enough depth but this game meant nothing.

The biggest issue and only one that truly matters is that Mario is still a terrible game day coach and no one on staff knows how to call timeouts. That’s the only real takeaways that matters from yesterday’s game.

I don't know if many people realize, but Rutgers was favored to win. Mostly due to us having a lineup full of backups. I'm not mad we lost I'm more so mad about the backups that we played. Cristobal at LG? We had better options. Gore at DT? We had better options. And Keontre Smith, our smallest linebacker, starting against a run heavy B1G team? I think these were horrible personnel decisions. Were we really trying to win, or trying to make some kids feel good before the roster purge?
I think I agree. But I’m not at practice. Idk what McCoy was or wasn’t doing to make them trust lil dude more..I doubt it was just them thinking Lou was better ..same at LB..that’s why these young guys gotta stay ready and prepare the right way. This staff has 0 problems letting young guys play..but you gotta go take a spot as well..I don’t think they were making guys feel good..nothings is Gunna be given based off talent alone

I think that Rutgers #5 is that good my boy. He broke some contain all on his own at times ..he’d been doing that Alllll year..and we were missing key guys and depth..the team competed hard..one ST miscue flipped the game..but 5 is a problem on his own..reminded me of the MSU back from 21 in hardrock

As I said they were within a TD against OSU, Michigan, Iowa, and Penn State at half. What would Miami have looked against those 4 teams this year? If it’s the same or worse then why are you acting like we should have boated raced them with our backups against their starting lineup?

I forgot to list Taylor out at DT. So 9 starters out. Multiple backups out. On a team that wasn’t the greatest to begin with. It was going to be a slugfest either way but shows Miami is still lacking in the Trenches with depth. DL was weak outside of Bain. JHH and Dean did nothing. Wayne got whipped. OL was decent but Miami still lacks and elite NFL RB. I’ve been saying that all year.
