State of the State Episode 2

“Floridas quarterback was a backup in the ACC last year.” That’s a bar. More sec hypothetical wins nonsense.

I do disagree about the SEC being the best conference from d$. That’s easily the B1G to me. ACC also went 8-6 against the SEC last year. We should act like it

Was taking a look at QBs and different conferences the other day

ACC is actually pretty deep especially if guys like Angeli stay healthy and the kid from Pitt bounces back

D$ you need to spend your time relaxing or bringing us more Miami news but listening to Wyken and Blyken talk is like trying to try and reason with a moron.

Yeup. & Our quarterbacks do well in the league too.

Jennings, JKS @ Berkley, Bailey, i think Lincoln & Louisville will have one of the best offenses in the country, the two you mentioned, Mensah, etc. i’m sky-high on what baby Mendoza is going to do at GT as well.

The kid from Penn State finished the season strong after taking IU to wire. Grunkemeyer should do well in his second year starting in the same system at VT.

It’s about even. Big ten had 3 teams with 10+ wins and the sec had 7. Big ten had 6 teams with 8 or 9 wins and sec had 2

Here’s what’s my deciding factors:

Excluding ND and FCS, the B1G went 21-3 against non-p4 FBS teams during the regular season. Their three losses: Tulane 23-3 against Northwestern, UNLV 30-23 against UCLA, and New Mexico 45-10 against UCLA. The SEC went 28-2 with their two losses being USF 18-16 UF & Memphis 32-31 Arkansas.

Pretty even. The main difference for me is that UF beat Texas, their top non-playoff team, while Northwestern and UCLA lost every game to the good teams in their conference.

Their only p4 playoff wins were against each other. The other was Ole Miss beating Tulane for the second time in the same season.

B1G: 3-4 (XII), 4-2 (ACC), & 4-3 (SEC)

SEC: 6-8 (ACC) & 3-1 (XII)

XII: 7-3 (ACC)

Additionally:

1. IU won the national championship
2. Ohio State beat Texas; IU smoked Alabama. LSU’s and OU’s wins against Clemson and Michigan were not impressive.
3. No top 5 B1G had a loss as bad as Alabama against FSU
4. Arkansas scored more points against every single SEC defense than they did against Notre Dame; in fact, most of Arkansas’ losses were within 10 points while the ND game was a blowout.
5. SEC went 2-2 in rivalry week (Ws LOU + CLE vs Ls for GT + FSU).
6. No SEC team has made the national championship game for three years in a row.
7. Brent Key and GT played back to back SEC champs UGA as well as any SEC school does in a loss.
8. Tennessee went 8-4 in the regular season after trading qbs with UCLA; and Joey Aguilar’s previous stop was at App State.

Ahmad Hardy played against UVA in the bowl game; Mizzou still lost to UVA. The SEC’s only postseason win against a P4 program, not in the SEC, was Texas beating Michigan who had just fired their coach before the bowl game lol.

Florida again falling victim to a few good skill players without the OL or DL to sustain a good season. They had a few really talented OL last year and they are gone. Their DL has one good player, Woods. The rest are ****. And there’s zero depth. Good luck!

And this was us Miami fans for nearly two decades before Mario was hired. We can call this out, because if you just change the school colors, it's the same exact arguments (cope) that we spit out year after year.

Part of me believes that FSU/UF fans deep down know this, but would rather gaslight themselves than accept that their program might be stuck in the doldrums of college football for a good little while.

@DMoney You need to stop pandering to the SEC bias. They are living in the past!!!

Last Year
Mizzu 8-5
Tenn 8-5
LSU 7-6
UF 4-8
Aub 5-7
SC 4-8

UF needs to be put in their place

If FSU loses to SMU and Bama before October even starts..Then the Double Fries, No Slaw guy will turn his commentary to possible reasons why Norvall wont finish the season and Herman will replace him.
