State of Emergency-NOAA Link in OP

11 advisory had it jog a lil further east. Now looking at landfall around Stuart area. Lower Broward and all of Miami Dade should see nothing more then 40 mph wind. The new roof can withstand 150 mph. We will play and they can stop *****ing. Jimbo knows the *** raping he is in for and putting the excuses out already.

Actually 11 am track has it going into melbourne. Miami and Ft Lauderdale areas are now outside of the cone. Plus they're on the weak side of the storm as confirmed by recon. Hurricane winds don't extend out very far. Miami/FtLaud will receive nothing more than tropical force winds. Game on.

I'm in West Palm and that's what they showed, but sounds awesome

Well my flight into Miami Friday night has been canceled. ******* figures I'd have to miss Miami kicking the **** out of free shoes. **** **** **** I even had tickets to the phins game Sunday. Should I just go ahead and start drinking now?

So where do u draw the line as to what areas we should cancel games? All games in the state of Florida? South of Orlando?
Resources? Miami will be fine and won't need to draw resources from other parts of the state.

Why are we playing ANY games?! Ever?! Concussions, bro!

Jesuchristo, some porsters I think just show up here because they actually hate football (and possibly all organized athletics) and this is just a target rich environment for argument. Or they're just sissies that are constantly filled with anxiety when they're not feigning care about social justice.

Now the national media is starting to get on Miami and UF for entertaining the idea of playing on Saturday. This is gonna end badly.

They wouldn't if it was a northeastern city. They'd celebrate their "resiliency" and make a hashstag involving the word "strong".

Funny how that asshat Mandel makes no mention of Georgia or the Carolinas.

Today's Herald online makes it appear that the game will be played as scheduled. I am concerned about practices. How has the weather affected UM's practices? Have any been canceled or shortened?

I live in Charleston SC and I don't think the issue is getting into Miami. My wife had tickets to Cali for Sunday and they cancelled that flight also. I think they might be shutting down my airport.

Storm like this will cancel flights in unaffected areas due to system disruptions. Very good that it's going to start a 270 degree turn away from the US. Weird track, keeps on that path it will hit the same areas next week again as a TS. I think they play the game, but be ready for some hate.

Link?

Go look at Stewart Mandel and Andy Staples tweets. Also LSU just sent a letter to governor Scott saying their game needs to be relocated.

I think it's really obnoxious that Louisiana politicians are campaigning to have the game moved when Gainesville isn't expected to be hit, and the storm will be north come Saturday kickoff.

But also **** the Gators, so if it upsets them, it makes me happy. So sleaze on, Louisiana!

You have it backwards... other parts of the state will need to draw resources out of Miami. But then again, 90% of the hype surrounding hurricanes is just that; hype. This isn't Haiti.

Could probably re-book out of Columbia or Charlotte. I didn't see them on the list of affected airports.

I feel sorry for people that had their flights to FLL or MIA cancelled as things are looking pretty good for Broward and especially Dade. Can't imagine they cancel anything if it's barely sprinkling on Blake James' head in the Gables.

I have a friend who has made the same argument, that the games in Miami Gainesville should be cancelled so emergency resources from those cities can be used to help impacted areas and not for football games. Not sure I get that though. If Miami personnel go up state to help, I doubt they would leave the others staying in the Miami area stretched too thin to handle a football game. Wouldn't the National Guard be brought in for much of that additional help, anyway?

Seems like local police and firefighters would work overtime. They usually pull in utility crews from all over though.
