Stanford @ Miami -29.5

Yet another cool story.
I'll give the anti-Mario boys this one, even excusing the 1st 2 seasons with a crap team left, we and he have a pattern losing late.
need to change late, can't have late season collapses, a loss here and there happens, but losing 2 of last 3 was a disaster last year, can't happen again

Mario has been trying really hard to change our reputation. I feel like not blowing teams out is part of it.
Not complaining or ripping into reds is also part of it. Strict discipline as well.

However, the sht ain’t working.
We are still getting personal foul calls for bs that goes on all the time.
Yes weve gotten breaks. But some of the calls for personal fouls or unsportsmanlike is ridiculous.

Mario doesn’t want the program to be that anymore but he’s fighting a battle he ain’t gonna win.
And I guarantee that our players want to be the bad guy so bad. I feel that regardless of how many graduate, regardless of community service and grades, we are still gonna be that team in every one’s eyes.
So I say just be yourself and be what we have always been and step on them and make them never want to play us.

You have to be the team that wins before the game even starts. And it ain’t gonna happen by not embarrassing them and saying please and thank you to the refs.

This is a game where it feels like we should be up 40 points, but we will look at the scoreboard midway thru the 4th qtr and see we are up by only 10 points. Starters will play the entire game.
Bingo, once we are up by 2 scores, shut it down. Then on the Press conference, Dawson will complain we only ran 58 plays. Miami will never step on an opponent, no killer instinct.

Miami went up 28-6 against USF late in the first half, USF punted, and Miami threw the ball down the field twice with a minute to go, the 2nd of which was intercepted.

Coming out of the half, with a 28-6 lead, USF punted, and Miami threw the ball 3 times to start the subsequent drive, after a Fletcher first and 10 run, Beck threw another pick on a deep shot.

I really wish people would watch games. It'd be so much easier to talk ball on here.

100% correct. Taking foot off gas has been situational. I haven't agreed with it in all those situations, but it is a situational tendency, not an M.O. My favorite example of Dawson/Mario not taking foot off gas:

We haven't shut down the offense in any game this year. You people think that if we punt, we must have just run it up the middle three times.

Yep, people misremembered our last drive against FSU.

When we were watching the USF game a few of us were talking back and forth. I said the INTs he threw in that game were fine by me. He was going for the kill shot and got excited which is the opposite of what the narrative is right now. The other one was just Malachi Toney jumping out of the gym like a psycho.

I dunno wtf happened on Friday but the USF game was very different to me.

The standard, Friday Miami line shrink. A tradition like no other.
