Stacy Coley Uh-Oh

I think Coley will do fine in the NFL regardless if he goes this year or next year. I agree he has a chance to make himself a first round pick if he stays. If he goes this year I think he's a 3rd rounder. He has a lot of injury and maturity issues (penalties) that will hold his stock down. I think Hurricane receivers have done so well in the NFL lately, its hard to imagine another one getting past 32 teams.

If he chooses to go, then good luck. We can all sit here and say this or that. But the fact is, he can play in the league. He will get himself into the top three to four rounds of the draft. He has good enough tape. I honestly think his highlight reel would be more impressive than say a Phillip Dorsett. Coley, has some amazing plays on his resume. Some great runs after the catch, and some great catches this year where ehe moves to the ball and does a great job of catching it with his hands.

Sure he could benefit from another year. as is the case with most every player out there. I think Burns should go ,but he could be a top half of the first round with a great senior year. This year he will have to crush the combine to get into the first IMO.

Here's to hoping he stays and good luck if he goes.

one year here wont change much imo. he still wont be consistent enough to be #1 or #2 receiver. his ceiling is desean jackson, his floor is roscoe parish.

Roscoe was a 2nd round pick and hung around for several seasons. Stacy's floor is a lot more like Aldarius Johnson than Roscoe.

Yeah, he really needs to give it another year under Richt and try to be one of the most explosive players in the country.

he should look at Dorsett/Hurns for guidance

they stayed through their senior years and they blossomed

It was dumb *** play calling that ****ed this kid up. All those stupid *** bubble screens! Same thing with Dorsett! Yall all know players under Golden's regime do better when they get in the league. Coley has something Streeter didn't have, skill! Streeter could run and jump, and had great size. But lacked wr skill.

Everything that I have read on the subject has maintained that unless you improve your draft status into the first round from a lower round by staying another year, it is financially better to declare for the draft after three years. The one caveat being is that by coming out early you can't make a roster, but would have with another year of college ball. Then its better to wait.

In addition, I don't think he can risk another major injury.

That theory takes into consideration that you are getting a second contract. If you aren't it's worth it to get drafted as high as possible. Anyone after the 2nd round is no longer guaranteed 1M. So if he is projected as a 5th rounder and comes back and makes it into the 2nd round he earns himself 800K more guaranteed.

If player ends up being good enough to get a second contract then it would involve a lot more math.

Also a lot of teams are willing to take fliers on highly drafted players who maybe didn't quite pan out for one team, as apposed to a guy who was drafted late and didn't pan out.

Good luck in the CFL.

Don't dog the CFL like that.

What in the world makes any one think a guy who gets dinged up virtually anytime there's contact will survive in the NFL? When healthy, he can do some things, but I don't see him staying healthy.

If he's very lucky, he's late round material. There will be a ton of questions in anyone's mind about durability after they look at his film.

Is this real life?

Lets not forget, this kid was being touted as better than Dorsett after his freshman season here. He has had some really great highlight plays. Maybe not as great of a body of work, but his highlights are more impressive to me. The kickoff return, the end around against Pitt, some of the nice turnaround catches this year. But I forgot, everyone is great once they leave here, great prior to being here and the guys that are here are trash and there is a Freshman better than them anyway.

Regardless of where he gets drafted the bottom line is that the Miami offense was better with him playing. Right now, outside of Coley who is on that roster can stretch a defense vertically?( maybe Cager?). If Coley stays I think he has a monster senior year. I think the NFL will have big questions - right now- in regards to his overall durability and toughness.

But yeah, leaving now does reek of going to the lowest bidder

Coley doesnt even really have the ability to stretch the defense vertically. That is the most overrated part of his game on here.

Diggs had 2200+ yds and 20+ TDs how is that not producing

Over 3 years that's a decent WR, nothing special. 700 yards per year, 7 TDs.

Over 3 years Coley is sitting at 1400+ yards and 10 TDs. Obviously some injury issues, but if what Diggs did was nothing special then I think we can consider what Coley did to be worse than that. Probably below average really.
