I don't disagree at all with this. It just so happens that the other half usually have decent reasons and a functional long-term memory such that we're irked by those who base their entire online persona on the premise that people will just simply forget all of their hand-waving buffoonery. I don't agree that he should go if he decides to leave for the NFL either but if he does fans shouldn't ridicule him for doing so regardless of the situation. At the end of the day we don't know what financial situation he and others may be in. Not every college player is handed a silver spoon and platter from birth.

That's fair enough for me and I'll try to respect that then a bit better than I have.

Concerning ridiculing him, most comments I see are ridiculing the decision and his current level of development and maturity, rather than saying he's a worthless POS or the like. I personally pulled like **** for Streeter and don't want to see another repeat of some random scrub named Coaley (see also: Rod Streator) doing work in the NFL while Coley is playing Arena league.

I think Stacey Coley is a talented player in College but won't do much as a pro. If he comes back next year I think he can do something like 60 catches and 900 yards which would be a memorable season then he can look back on his whole life.

But I can see him have Tommy Streeter type of NFL career where he bounces around for 3 or 4 years but never really makes an impact.
