I remember this being posted a couple years ago but haven't seen Bains record. pulled from cam wards youtube channel.

He should've stopped at 500# and started to actually improve as a football player, not a power lifter
Bama boards have their players above that number as of recent.

I don't think there's a point in chasing these numbers.
I think Kurt Hester had his OL “strong enough” around 500 on the back squat.

Somewhere between 1.5 and 1.75x body weight seems to be fine.
 
Absolutely. No point pushing massive heavy weight if you need ten seconds.
I had a RB speed-only client bragging about his TBDL being +500# which yeah great whatever at 195# that's great in HS.

But his acceleration? top-end? yards per carry? Games missed due to soft tissue injury? All no bueno. Can't miss more games played than TD's scored

I tried to explain to him that if it takes you 8 seconds to pick that up the play is long over and the opponent is back in the huddle.
