Same reason Sagapolu has squatted more than any OL in UM history. They were both short and compact. How can X squats more than Andre Johnson is baffling to me lol
Some of it is body type. People with shorter legs can squat higher weight. How can X squats more than Andre Johnson is baffling to me lol
He should've stopped at 500# and started to actually improve as a football player, not a power lifterSquatting 705 is crazy work.

Bama boards have their players above that number as of recent. He should've stopped at 500# and started to actually improve as a football player, not a power lifter
I think Kurt Hester had his OL “strong enough” around 500 on the back squat.Bama boards have their players above that number as of recent. He should've stopped at 500# and started to actually improve as a football player, not a power lifter
I don't think there's a point in chasing these numbers.
****, cause Andre is 6’3, and X is a good deal shorter. In my experiences, taller guys usually struggle more with squats. How can X squats more than Andre Johnson is baffling to me lol
Absolutely. No point pushing massive heavy weight if you need ten seconds.I think Kurt Hester had his OL “strong enough” around 500 on the back squat.
Somewhere between 1.5 and 1.75x body weight seems to be fine.
I had a RB speed-only client bragging about his TBDL being +500# which yeah great whatever at 195# that's great in HS.Absolutely. No point pushing massive heavy weight if you need ten seconds.
