Was there today. Some will know me from Shadow’s board.

Some grades ( A = elite unit, B = top 2 or 3 in the conf. C = conf. Avg, D = bottom of conf. F = season wrecker)

QBs -- C and trending up -- all 3 had some really good throws, Martell is a real threat on scrambled and Perry is obviously getting real coaching for the first time. Martell needs shotgun to be effective. Enos is making a difference here.

RBs -- B-. Deejay and Cam are good to very good backs. Cam potentially a touch better than that. NEED Lingard's speed here. Have to have a game breaker back here.

OL -- C- but trending upwards. Surprisingly competent at times. Donaldson looks good at center and our starting five are solid starters. Depth is rough. Might have found one in Nelson -- **** good feet.

STs -- C-. Oof the kickers were rough. Hard to gauge.

WRs -- B. Osborne is going to be a productive pro player. Very good hands, knows how to get open and routes are crisp. Easily the best WR on the field today. Osborne and Thomas should be difficult to scheme against. Payton will contribute and Pope looks better. Hard to believe Payton is only 17.
Still too many drops but this is a good collection of talent.

TEs - B+. Now we are talking. Mallory was really good today. He and Brevin are both all acc caliber players. AND Irvin the younger looks like a D1 player. He has worked hard on his body. Good for him.

Will do Defense when I get home.

C for OL? should be an F. this grp is the definition of shambles.

can't judge ST till they play someone that isn't miami. you're not going to crack your own teammates and risk injuring them for a year. Plus the australian guy isn't here yet.

Through the Spring Game:
QB: C+ They are still learning the offense, but they are showing signs they are not pathetic QBs as was presented during the previous regime.
RB: A DeeJay is a full on stud. Harris is the next in line, and Lo hasn't shown us anything yet. But they are elite regardless. The OL cannot spoil the judgement of this group.
WR: B- Dropsies need to stop. Hopeful that they can put it together. There will be more opps for guys to put numbers up. Will be interesting to see who "wants" it more.
TE: A No need for comment
OL: C- Agreed, they are improved from a year ago. However, they will need to stay healthy and continue growing.
DL: A Garvin, Silvera, Rousseau and we haven't seen the transfers yet.
LB: B Need McCloud to improve and the freshmen to come in with playbook knowledge
CB: B Ivey and Blades calmed a lot of nerves. Depth coming this summer.
S: C Injuries and inexperience are cause for concern. But with Bolden coming in and players returning from injury, there is a chance to surprise this fall.
ST: D+ No real improvement from those on the field, and Hedley hasn't shown anything more than tattoos thus far. Eyes will be on him come the fall, to be sure.

Tight ends shouldn’t be lower than anything but an A. No one in the country has two tight ends as talented as both will and Jordan and then throw Irvin as the 3rd guy
Make your own thread guy

Defense

CBs: B-. Honestly tough to tell because there was a ton of rotation but Blades looked good. He can start here. Bethel is definitely fast and you can see the tools. Bandy should be shut down or close it on his man.

S: B-. A lot of potential but very unproven. Carter still has some issues in space. Hall has every tool to be very very good. Redwine and Johnson was an underrated tandem. Will be tough to replace. Bolden could be a godsend.

LBs: B. Pik and Shaq are what they are: very good but not great lbs. Joyner looked good today and was a pleasant surprise. Depth is a major question mark -- but IF we can stay healthy here, the starters are a strength of the team.

DL: B+/A-. Clearly the best unit on the team. Garvin is a fringe 1st rounder IMO and Rousseau, while still a little light in the ***, will be a serious problem for the ACC the next two years. Decent chance that Hill arrives and discovers he's the third best DE on the team. Awesome problem to have. This unit goes from very good to elite if Jordan Miller and Ford take steps forward. Nesta plays bigger than he is and should be a plus starter this year.

All in all, I saw a team making steps to correct its biggest two weaknesses (OL and QB) and losing very little of their strength (DE and LB). If we get even an average acc year from QB, this team should win 10 IMO.

Rousseau is a monster. Saw him in person for the first time today, holy sh*t 😲.

I wouldn't try and force any extra weight on him, I think he has enough functional strength to dominate.

We all know Spicer sucks, he will be replaced. Baxa will have an excellent year.
Baxa couldn't reach the end zone on kick offs with a string wind at his back and missed a chip shot field goal. Plus we don;t have another scholarship kicker on the roster...he is the man and looked terrible today. Special teams are far to important to hope an Australian punter will magically fix ST's. I love the scrimmage but was disappointed that ST's were not tested. Live punting and kickoffs would've shown more of what to expect. Hopefully Henley is great and ST's can cover kick offs and punts, we know our return game is strong the only true plus for ST's.

Just QB1 will not be known until the fall, P1 will not either.
Deep breathing guys.
We knew this.
No need to get anyone hurt doing kick returns or punt returns.
Relax and trust the new staff on this one.

You can’t take one scrimmage to write Baxa off. How about check his sample size for the entire year last year? Did you forget he actually played all last year? He was totally fine on kickoffs.

2018 (True Freshman): Delivered impressive season serving as Miami's starting kicker, finishing 9-for-12 on field goals and 45-for-46 on extra-point attempts...Missed just one field goal inside 40 yards on season...Averaged 61.3 yards on kickoff attempts with 41 touchbacks on 69 kickoffs...
