When he goes off on these armed forces riffs, even bringing in Civil War generals, you know the guy is just taking a flight of fantasy. He has no clue what’s going on inside, especially with the human resources issues that were apparently encountered with Gattis.

This dude has no clue how things work when you are having to fire someone in an organization, complicated by serious HR issues where you have to go through a process. Only people with real-world experience know about these type of things, not half-wit message-board coaches.

When one looks through the wrong end of the telescope - they're not going to get the picture.

What I've been saying is that Gattis should have been fired for being a crap coach - that part is apparently in agreement.

That's not enough, so others throw in this convoluted HR nightmare - saying the termination couldn't be effected in a timely manner. Some double secret can of worms. Fine.

It doesn't matter how it was executed - there was NO reason to not start a replacement search - and start putting out feelers. Early.

"OH! You can't do that due to "Secret Squirrel" crap. Seriously?

That's pure, distilled, BS. There's "Official" and there's "Unofficial." There's ways, and there's WAYS.

"Unofficial" endeavors are the active basis for business actions used with regularity. "Unofficial" talks grease the skids - they accelerate actions - they enable smooth official transitions - that are TIMELY. Happens - probably millions of times every day.

Yeah, I was conditioned to direct action when direct action was called for - but I also saw some hairballs manifest where direct action suddenly became unviable. In business - many times a conversation will start out with "Hypothetically speaking - . . ." Third parties.

I'm a results guy. Process isn't that important. And if there are restrictions in a process - there's always workarounds.

Always.

If you're waiting for pencil pushers and lawyers to make something happen - you'll be catching nothing but hind teat - and you better get used to it.

Apparently, when I speak of something you can't keep up with - it's some flight of fantasy.

My main experience in these were very time sensitive - I always had to beat the other guy - because one of us was going to die in the next 1.5 to 2.0 seconds. That's about as real as it gets.

At 22, I was called to meet with and Q&A with the BOD of one of the largest financial institutions in the world of some changes which would affect how THEY would be able to conduct business. The meeting was right there in Coral Gables, and they flew down from New York.

I know about Human Resources - I know their priorities - their preferences - their limitations - and how dammmmed petty they can be over some of the most insignificant things imaginable. And you'd know that too if you had a drip of the knowledge you pretend to.

And then there's the Administrators. I know their priorities, preferences, limitations and "rules." Many can't unzip without checking with five other elements of the University administration - BEFORE they even think of flying anything by the attorneys. Who get paid by the hour. Who are in no hurry at all to conclude some legal element.

More hours, more billing. More billing, more personal funding. They don't give a crap about windows for recruiting players or coaches - it's the bottom line. THEIR bottom line.

Real world experience? From you - that's got me grinning from ear to ear right now. That's some funny stuff right there, and I'm going to give you a big thumb up just for making me laugh.
