Spring Football is here!!

Even if you're the biggest slurper in the world, not having a staff assembled 4 days before Spring practice, 3 months since our last game, it's __________ as ****. Insert whatever adjective you like, but that's something I don't ever recall anywhere.

Okay, so get the hires right, I get that. My lord though, what's the holdup and or problem? Spring practice won't make or break this fall, but what a bizarre *** scenario.

It would be nice if Dawson actually managed to get enough of the offense in for the spring game to build excitement for the season. I don't want to see a see vanilla offense. Last year's spring game, the excuse was they were keeping everything under wraps, wait for the season, but that WAS the offense. Letting loose during the spring game will help WR recruiting. They're just waiting for a system with a pulse. Last year's was trash.
Lashlee implemented his O with almost no spring due to Covid

Never seen anything like it.

Lake and Gabby have a really good Podcast out today. They included some stuff that was known internally, but was eventually going to make its way out.

It looks like they're back in the SID's good graces since they did spill some VERY interesting stuff that had a lid on it until today.

+Okunlola and Mauigoa have been killing it in the weight room and drills. This is is no surprise, but don't be shocked if both of these guys are in the 2-deep to start the Spring and end up in the starting 5 by the time the season starts. They are physically ready to go. Let's see what happens when the pads come on.
+Zion Nelson is out for the spring. He's not conditioning yet with the team. If he falls far behind these two kids, I don't know if he hangs around post Spring. I don't know what the deal is here, but like Saban, Mario doesn't suffer guys in the tub.
+Bryant is having great workouts, but like the two FR tackles, let's see what happens when the pads come on.
+Bobby Washington is a freak. He may be one of two FR linebackers that don't redshirt because he will be extremely valuable. It's also an opportunity to get him on the field to work on wrapping up w/o exposing the defense.

im pretty confident the WR's can catch on in the next 6 months

The o line news is as expected. Zion is still healing and no reason to rush for spring which isn't very viral for a veteran. If he'd not participating in summer workouts then I'd say don't expect him to play/he's done here. Encouraging about the young LB's. Just hope they're able to grasp the technicalities and nuances of the position. Wish Popo was an EE.

Feels good to wake up with a full staff

Zion is always **** hurt. It’s insane.

It's actually not. The way he bulked up early in his career was not the right approach, and has put pressure on his joints and body movements to the point where it has been hard to recover fully. It's one thing for a broken bone to heal, it's another thing to get his body size/shape/distribution to be the healthiest so that he does not suffer further injuries or exacerbate existing injuries.

He's not "hurt". He just isn't yet strong enough or healed enough to go full speed.

All my eggs in the Bobby Washington basket. 6'3 sub 4.5 LB = they better not **** this up.
