South Florida '18- the Safeties

All I care about is having at least one of these guys ready to steal a lot of PT at safety.

CB I think these guys will get some PT, but Malek Young and Bandy are solid. Jhavontae Dean might step up too. I'm really not very worried about CB next yr tbh.

Dude I'm stoked to see the upgrades in speed on special teams something I think is over looked

Didnt Pete say the staff is going to put Frierson at corner

Wildgoose - what a name. First time
I hear anything like that. Maxwell worship - another great name

Really amazing group. There are guys who are 2nd tier guys for us on this list that would be really nice takes in an average year.

Anyone else think D Money was having a little fun with the softies in comparing Jobe to a Baga player?

Don't sleep on Malek Young either. Love Bandy too, but Young is threatening to turn himself into an elite, lock down #1 cover corner. Kid is a PBU just waiting to happen every time the ball is in the air. If he continues to improve at the rate he has been, he's going to be on a lot of watch lists come this time next year.

Love this class, can't wait to watch the finish.

Gilbert Frierson- 6’1, 185 (Coral Gables)- One of the most physically impressive players in the class. Dynamic athlete who has returned multiple punts for TDs. Also contributes at WR. Still searching for best position on defense. Plays safety in high school but some coaches project him at corner. Coconut Grove product and cousin of Frank Gore. Miami commit.

Junior Year Highlight - Gilbert Frierson highlights - Hudl

Do you prefer him at CB or Safety?

I've never seen him live in pads. From what I've seen him at camps, he has enough athleticism to play CB but is very raw. Jobe is further along in that regard.

Jobe is like two years older than most of those kids

Until we rise up, alabaga is the standard setter and to realize what we're getting at DB, know that Jobe, Hall and Frierson are all very coveted by them. This is a sign we will soon be able to challenge teams in the top 5. Consider how well the current group is playing and imagine how the competition in practice will drastically improve they performance at all DB positions.

And after this class i hope we stack and do the same with every position especially the dbs. I hope we go back to no drop off with subs. Baga is the o ly team where theres not much of a drop off between subs and starters.

Not just subs but 3rd team guys. They have 5 stars all over their three deep.

I actually think our first team talent is as good as about anyone in the country. However, we don't have alot of quality depth except on the DL.

I dont think anyone is on bamas level maybe clemson but they lay eggs here and there, penn state looks physical enough. Bama is on another level right now but maybe they lay an egg in the playoffs im hoping they do
