Rumph is by far the most worthless coach on the entire Defense. Banda & Baker both help with game planning in addition to coaching their position groups. Patke also coaches ST. So just from a value stand pt theres no comparison between the coaches you named and Rumph. Then you take into account recruiting, and it's really not that difficult to understand why this decision was made.

The majority of our defensive staff are at the level of an Applebee’s bartender, and wouldn’t even be a GA at most other schools, but because Manny knows them they are good enough for Miami

He'll only come if he can call plays as the DC tho. A guy like Raymond is so respected he can take the risk on a potential one year stop.

Dave Aranda is entrenched as the DC at LSU.If Raymond is waiting for that job he’ll have a loooooong wait unless Aranda takes a HC job which he’s turned down several already.
Now if you want to give him the DC job here maybe he listens..

They can’t use rumph as a scapegoat though because if they do that’s absolutely fvcked up and I would Lose a lot of respect for the school
