lmfao so now Rumph is an “exceptional” teacher??? LMFAAAOOO where do you people come up with this???

What other position group has been questioned more than his at the start each season since he been here, but yet we get good production out of them year in year out. And keep in mind year after year we not getting the so called top recruits at his position that y’all want.

I will wait for you to point out a better teacher on the staff on either side of the ball since he been here?

It only take a few posts to tell who really knows football and who just talking fan talk like fantasy football.

Stubb's sucks, idk what you're talking about. He also is a completely trash recruiter. And look what he did to Brian Hightower, or are we going to get another bs excuse that he was the problem, even though we know that it was Stubb's why he left... Talk about things being his own worst enemy but he was pretty ******* good last year. Literally the only player Stubb's made better was Harley, and that's because Enos force fed him the ball.

Secondly why the **** do we need 3 coaches on this staff all for the same position? Patke has OLB and Striker and can't recruit for ****. Baker has ILB and DC, and Diaz does what? That's 3 ******* LB coaches, and the position group as a whole sucked and had no ******* depth. When pinckney went down who did Patke have ready to play? Your probably going to say it's all good cause you were a walk-in, but it isn't.

If Diaz wants to keep his butt buddies (Banda and Patke) on defense so bad he needs to fire Baker, take over defensive play calling duties, and make Patke full LB/Striker coach. Why is Baker on this staff if all he is coaching is ilb and is essentially a knockoff Diaz?
Just got two All-American receivers to sign with us. Only DSD really knows what happened with him and Hightower so I'm not going to speculate there. Yes Jeff was great last year and showed flashes again this year at times, I blame Enos more than anyone else for not getting him involved but its also Jeff's fault for getting himself suspended again and causing issues, not Stubblefield's. I'm 100% fine with Baker getting fired, I mentioned that in either this thread earlier or another one I can't remember. And no I don't think we should have to rely on a freshman walk on as a second stringer

Al blades been just as good as tyson frontrunner campbell

All season I’ve seen hundreds of posts wanting this coach fired and that coach fired. Now that that is happening(with more to come) and I’m seeing the same people say those coaches are being scapegoated and these firings mean nothing now. What do you expect Manny to do, fire himself?

I’m optimistic that with the CORRECT hire at OC, he can get things turned around. I know that’s an unpopular opinion but I’m not one to just go along with the mob for a few likes. Let’s see who he brings in for replacements.

If you all feel so passionately that Manny is Manure(corny nickname game at an all time high on CIS) and has no chance to succeed , then why stick around?? Just to make this board as miserable as humanly possible? Just do us actual Canes fans, and yourself, a favor and go hop on the bandwagon somewhere else.

In his career? No he hasnt. His players are failing in the NFL as well.
We've had higher recruiting classes than 90+% of the teams we play every single season, could we recruit better? Yes, but that's also not our main issue in the program. He's given a handful of guys a chance in the league that previously had no shot at all, after that its on the players to stay in the NFL

Well said! If guys can’t see that he has helped some of his players get a look in the league despite the odds, then they just have clouded vision. Most people just want a chance in life, the league or what ever their dreams are; beyond that what you do with the chance is on the individual.

Didn’t make La Tech’s quit. You quit if you’re a quitter and have no love or respect for your leader.

Can't compare LaTech's offensive output to ours. Their defense wasn't put in positions to have to bail them out on an almost weekly basis.

Right. Not making the argument they were any good. My point is a consistently bad offense can make your defense quit.

people said the same **** in reverse when we had Golden.

the team is run by a clueless nerd of course we were going to be horrible.

I agree that the Stubbs slander is not really needed.

the bigger issues is the wasted space that is Patke or Baker now that Manny has to basically run the defense again

First of all he went to FSU. He is a stupid guy. Stop regurgitating some bull**** line the BOT fed you about how “bright” Manny is.

Secondly, Randy Shannon knew defense at a much higher level than Spanish Taggert and what did that get him?

Shannon was not cut out to be a HC. But at least he still is coaching defense. If Manny doesn't cut it I possibly see the same trajectory for him. But that doesn't undercut my argument that he knows how to coach defense. The issue is whether he can adapt to being a HC.

Let’s not forget CB is one of the few groups that don’t have jackasses threatening to jump into portal on a weekly basis or getting themselves suspended or any of that dumb **** or taking mental health vacations

Agree with everything you just said. Except maybe expecting to compete w Clemson. I think most of us just want to see UM beat teams it out-talents. 9 wins should be easy based on the talent. But that gets back to the point.... do we have the talent we think we do?

We do ,Epi.

Over time it makes you question it, but we have the talent to reach base level goals.

There is a lot of rah rah bullshyt on here about pride, laziness, and softness.

Fans think we can waltz out and beat the FIU’s and Louisiana Techs with talent and try hard.

EVERYBODY is better than that now.

When a team has a fake leader who falls to pieces internally during adversity, they will lose ALL REAL CONFIDENCE in him and themselves. They will play weak, slow, and stupid.

Football is EMOTIONAL and the first step is to be ready to play mentally and spiritually. This starts in the offseason with the presence that the head coach brings.

Manny looks like a lost little boy when adversity strikes. The players have seen it since the offseason and it kills confidence and momentum.

They like him so they blame themselves for his shortcomings, like most children do when their parents are overwhelmed and failing in managing the family.

Look what Manny did with Golden and NoD’s players. The same turn around is waiting for the offense with a solid hire at OC who FITS.

We were laughing like **** at the gators when they won 4 games.

Look at them now. Was talent the problem?

Wait a minute!!! You’re saying the only read Corn Elder and Mike Jackson got a chance in the league is because of Rumph??
