I have wanted Wingo in this class. If he picks us, this class is shaping up like last years class, another very good group. They just can't close on a whale. If they somehow got Keys on top of this it would be a great class. I don't expect that though and we will still be good.

You and @gogeta4 both mentioned that.

Is it that area that just isn’t good at football or is it because they are in a lower classification league
There's less quality volume of teams. There's still quality teams but its not like the tri-county area where you have a 10 block radius of 4 schools that can all play. St. Augustine still plays some tough opponents. Kind of similar to Mainland in Daytona. They put out quality players and play some good teams. It's just not week in and week out type of thing.

I think Wingo is a good add. The recent optics make him seem like a consolation prize mid guy we're taking just to stop the bad momentum but kid has real upside. At this point I don't care too much about recruiting rankings but want us to achieve balance in our weak points: another rb, DT, safety. Fill those needs by pivoting to other options or maybe getting 1 good flip and the class will be a success.

You can add Brandon James and Tim Tebow. Jarvis Williams was from Palatka. But I agree the level of football in and around St Augustine is not any where near South Florida.

Quartermen
The chubby LB who was good for us
Jalen Rivers

Jacksonville area has comparable talent to Palm Beach/Martin County

If we are being somewhat fair you can include down to Volusia county which has produced some talented players, particularly from Mainland. Leonard Williams, Tank Dell (even though he wasnt a high rated recruit, doing well in the NFL), LJ McCray to name a few. It's an overall volume thing though compared to the tri-county area in South Florida.

He’s no Keys or Spafford but he isn’t Lopez either

I like that the kid looks physically ready. I’m tired of the WRs getting here and looking physically like little kids that have been cooking bad comp 7 on 7 for years

Needs work in a football sense but to me looks like he could be a big problem physically for CBs down the road
