Wow what u freaking turn of events, here fellas, as of a few weeks back it was when I last spoke with him, it was the gates, as his mother was pushing this, and believe it or not his coach B. James was pushing miami behind the scenes late I was hearing. So I guess it paid off now. BTW I'm driving down to Miami now for a couple of days my daughter has her orientation starting tomorrow, soon as I get back I'll go by and talk with him and feel you guys in on what went on behind the scenes here..

You and @gogeta4 both mentioned that.

Is it that area that just isn’t good at football or is it because they are in a lower classification league

I’m not a fan of that part of FL for recruiting. They don’t produce the best. The only players I recall being worth a **** from that area r Ciatrick Fason back in the early 2000’s, & David Sharpe in like 2015 or so that had solid careers at UF. I don’t recall remotely anyone from St Augustine.

I mean think about it:
Lorenzo Lingard
Jarez Park
Jeremiah Payton
CeCe Jefferson
Jacques Patrick
Demorie Tate
Chantz Williams
DeMario Tolan
Aiden Mizzell

These r just off the top of my head as far as blue chips in the past 10 yrs, & I know I’m missing more from this area that were highly ranked & absolutely putrid at the next level. I won’t include CJ Baxter among that group since he blew up his knee in practice on a freak situation, & he showed promise as a true Frosh.

But yeah, I get skittish around that area for football. So I was all for him committing to UF, but now I’m just hoping this is not a stunt to soften the blow for some news in the next coming days a la like when we got Kennedy who we were “cool on” after we whiffed on all the DT prospects we thought we could pull.

Drowning and gasping for air and I’m reading “he’s overrated” and “his hometown doesn’t produce good talent”

HS recruiting is largely a crap shoot.
There are ways to have better guesses than others and watching a 2 min highlight tape on hudl is not one of them. Defer to the rankings. Use the industry/composite or just use on3. They don’t know anything either but it’s better than a hudl tape without comparing to anyone else.

As for location, since i can’t think of any greats to come out of Nixa, i guess that’s a red flag for cantwell too right? Probably not bc there’s no actual process just loads of bias.

Do you want good players or not? If today didn’t happen and he picked up a FL/SC hat all I’d be reading was why didn’t we go harder here. This is a top 22 wr in the country. Hes from Florida, in gator territory nonetheless.

Stop being weird

You can add Brandon James and Tim Tebow. Jarvis Williams was from Palatka. But I agree the level of football in and around St Augustine is not any where near South Florida.
