Some thoughts on week 6 college football..

Cinci was rolling. I didn’t see this coming before the season. Thought satterfield was toast.

The Oregon double OT win vs psu didn’t age well. Allar (and arch) both play better when they are down big because they are forced to throw the ball, rather than overthink it like they normally do. So the comeback vs Oregon was not a fluke. He has some talent. But that offense looks stale.

I’d add bama and call it a top 4. They have some warts like everyone else- specifically a lack of a run game. But Simpson is looking like he will be invited to nyc. That’s a team I wouldn’t want to face. Ole miss and A&M don’t scare me like that. They are a step below.

Texas tech has a legit claim to be number 5 imo.

Aren't you being a little harsh with Belichick? I mean, we knew that team had little talent. I haven't watched much, but I think you have to give him some time to stock up with his players to see if he can be decent there. The age though is a big problem.

Alex, I don't disagree that the Heels lack talent. They are bad

But if you watch that game vs Clemson (who is still markedly better than UNC), they looked so structurally and fundamentally unsound. It looked like it was about more than just the talent

Belichick is not going to turn UNC into a powerhouse overnight. The team roster lacks talent and filled with transfers. Losing combination.

I never would have hired him. At his age he's not in for the long haul, and I don't believe he can recruit well enough to leave a well-stocked roster for his successor.

He's honestly not leaving a well-stocked roster for himself.

I listened to a podcast this week (can’t recall which one, maybe yahoo enquirer) where they talked about UNC outbidding all the g5 schools. They were going after the same players as g5 schools, thinking they could out scheme. The talent level is very bad.

I caught some of that game. If the DC wasn’t his son he’d probably get fired on Monday.

This notion that the college game is just sooo much easier than the NFL, it's really not true. Especially since the college game has really influenced the NFL a lot the past decade or so

This reminds me of Charlie Weis talking about giving Notre Dame a ''decided schematic advantage'' when he first got that job

He should be fired for his haircut alone.

UNC set themselves up for major criticism when it was revealed they were counting themselves as the 33rd NFL franchise because of Belichick.

IMO it's the opposite. College teams need to replace their roster every 4-5 years top to bottom, with vast majority of starters contributing 1-2 years of value before they're gone. Evaluation and development is at hyper speed vs NFL. Plus kids have to actually attend school and pass their classes on top of now going through year-around development far more extensive than happens in the pros. Belichick is in way over his head, and making a buffoon of himself and his "unpaid" escort.

People’s predetermined hatred for BB is showing

They look as dysfunctional as we did in 2022 just with less talent

Hope yall weren’t preaching patience with us and slamming UNC now

I tell people all the time they aren’t the same sports . Nowhere nothing alike. The NFL has always been the easier gig , yes the talent is better and the coaching is better but it’s all football. College is recruiting , baby sitting , game planning , portal , dealing with boosters / AD’s, then the whole compliance / NCAA dance. There’s a reason coaches are running to the nfl right now.

Turns out that the “Decided Schematic Advantage” employed by Weis and Belichick was actually just having Tom Brady at QB. Too obvious now.
