I am a lifelong Celtics fan so you would get no argument from me about Larry....I was what would be deemed as a Lebron "hater" through the first half of his career....then he became more serious and proved the player everyone thought he would be...the series against GS alone when Irving and Love got hurt started my 180 on Lebron....again....to say hes isnt in the top 2-3 of all time comes with some bias that wont allow you to admit it. What that is I am not sure

I was in the Lakefront Arena in New Orleans the night Bird broke the Celtics scoring record at the time against the Atlanta Hawks.Greatest shooting night I’ve ever seen from anyone.The last shot was him falling into the Hawks bench.The Hawks we’re even going crazy with shots he was making…lol
They had a bidding with crowd after the game for his shoes and the game ball.
One if the biggest regrets I have is I didn’t have the money back then to bid on either.I have his rookie card and a lot of other collectibles but those two items would be top shelf stuff.
The ball went for 350. And the Shoes for 300. I think.Not a lot of money nowadays cause I usually have 2-3 times that in my pocket daily but back then it was A LOT of money.

Both those game used items are worth thousands today.I still have the program and the ticket stubs though..but man I wish I’d have gotten one or both of those items.If they had that same bidding today you wouldn’t be able to touch either of those game used pieces for under 10 grand ….oh well

Never said he was the goat nor do I believe he is. He is easily top 10. Speaking of the Bad Boy Pistons, Isiah Thomas and Bill Lambier have both said Lebron is the goat. Scottie Pippen, in 2017 before the last dance beef, said Lebron has "probably suprassed" Jordan. Jordan called him and Pippen retracted that though.




I did not say the Mavericks were equal to the Pistons as a team, who Jordan lost to three times in a row. My comparison is about how Jordan's improvement is viewed versus how Lebron's improvement is viewed. Both had career inflection points at 26, and both their inflection points pointed upwards for the rest of their careers. Folks, including you, are using the 2011 finals to say he isn't top ten. Well, the man got a **** of a lot better after 2011. And LBJ pre-2011 is a hall of fame career in of itself.

Don't want to endlessly clutter the thread w/ basketball but let's not act like there was endless substantial information before the basketball talk. Mario left us all in the Bermuda Triangle weeks ago. He went on Finnebaum and told everyone what the deal was. He is taking his time. When he wants to move quickly ala Bruce Feldman tweet correcting Canesport's report --> Maestro turning into Kevin Smith as our rb... he moves quickly. There is not much to talk about that hasn't been already discussed.

We've heard the names - Belk, the Dolphins LB coach, Liam Coen, Dorsey, etc. Until one of them says they are leaving their current job or Bruce Feldman tweets a hiring out, no one will be truly satisfied anyway.
